Hack the planet game.

That's what happens if you use free rotate and zoom options too let a hacking gremlin fly through the fourth wall.

Here's another fun bug.

Snek reveals in fire while I'm concealed.

Snek burns.

Alien Activity takes a reeaaalllllyy long time to work itself out.

Snek get mad.

Snek wants to fight fire with fire and goes into combat mode.

Snek can't actually fight fire (stupid snek) so snek moves toward concealed squad.

Snek reveals squad.

Not sure if this is a vanilla or LW2 bug. But it kinda feels like a vanilla bug.

Pretty sure I've seen that in Vanilla.

Yeah I find the game barely playable because of random massive pauses after each shot I make, after each alien activity and movement

Avenger Defense round 2....this time I got _4_ notices of a UFO chasing me, back to back to back to back. I don't know if that somehow scales up the defense mission but it seems buggy as shit.

As for the mission itself......1 Full MEC pod, 2 Full Muton pods, and a Snek pod led by a Berzerker in the first wave. Aaaannnddddd here come the plasma grenades. Fuck. What's so annoying is they can throw those things from below the hill outside the avenger ramp, so they can basically attack with impunity unless you're willing to push forward, which is suicide. Granted I had all my guys lined up in cover together in a line but that's about as far back as I can put them, without straight defending from the sides of the ramp in an effort to lure them over the lip of a hill.

The last AD mission seemed unbeatable and it wasn't.....but I'm not sure how I can get through this without losing soldiers. A lot of them. The AI using grenades is one of the few things you simply can't control for in XCOM, and especially when there are so many enemies that you can't possibly down them all before they can throw, or space your guys out enough to not provide them a tempting 2+ unit grenade target.

I honestly wish I could just turn these missions off. The first time was fun and cool. Now it just feels like a dick kick. I didn't bring a shinobi this time for sniping the pylon but now I'm thinking I should roll back my save and do so. It seems a hell of a lot easier than trying to fight through wave after wave of Mutons.

It sounds like bigger pauses than that, cooper.

Heh, and of course the Viper King picks an Avenger Defense mission to appear after not having shown his face for two months. But I (or Bradford at least) kicked the shit out of him so bad last time he was relatively easy pickings, since he mostly just focused on the first Hacked MEC wave they'd sent at me.

I've almost broken the first wave of Mutons! Pulling most of my guys back from the defense line a bit to break line of sight, some luck with the AI, and spreading out did save me some plasma nades. One casualty due to a plasma rifle that I have gotten back on their feet. By god, I may just win this yet. After that first wave the 9 or so advent and 4 snek remaining seems like a soft come down.

I already use that. I still get massive pauses from a lot of stuff, and I'm not exactly playing on a toaster either.

I had that problem. Only way I fixed it was to reinstall the game to the same hard disc that had my OS.

Ah, that might well be it. Windows is on my SSD and all my Steam games go onto my HDD. Nothing to be done in that event, not enough space. Guess I'll suck it up, thanks for the heads-up.

Maybe the engine enhancements they are putting in for the expansion will help. I wonder if those will go out to everyone, or just people who buy the expansion?

I just run on a factory-new 480 GB solid state drive. Solves all my space problems, since I have a HDD on the side to use as a filing cabinet for everything that's not games, like documents, pictures, music, etc.

I wonder if they'll finally fix the fucking avenger landing gear memory leak bullshit. Dropping the game again for another few months until I get over it. :|

Ok new information on "The Chosen"

They can become outright immune to certain types of damage such as Melee.

As well their abilities are more fixed and less random. So they don't really challenge you with entirely new sets of abilities.

And... goodness... I feel disheartened and I was already pessimistic about this... Even the faction system is less interesting now that I know what it is. I'd give this more depth but you guys want blind hype right now because these announcements are too fresh.

Here, you can get blindly hyped. I'll go... think about some things.
