Hell, sharpshooters period are gonna be stupidly effective against the lost due to the headshot mechanic/unlimited pistol ammo.

Another WotC article.
It's mostly just some minor detail about the Chosen and "intimacy" in terms of characters and voices as well as some background info behind the expansion. Apparently, they considered making WotC the beginnings of XCOM 3 instead of its own expansion pack.

Something interesting from it though is this:

And speaking of "intimacy", on a note unrelated to this article, apparently the Resistance Radio is only heard from certain rooms in the avenger, like the Bar/Memorial. So it definitely seems to be an evolution of the news ticker from EU. I actually really like this and cannot wait to hear it; especially the ADVENT speaker's lines.

As a random grumbling, I personally do not like how "personalized" the aliens are becoming. Named entities I can allow for... but apparently Assassin is an honourable person. What is honour for aliens and how is it different from that of humans? Might as well be honest and call her the Alien Samurai.

Well, all you need for "honour" is a code of ethics that you stick to. Now, an assassin that allows ethics to get in the way of compromising their target is a bad assassin. Utterly humiliating the target with just how irrelevant they are in their own demise is basically the goal. That said, not all ethics cover all forms of death. An honourable witch-burner can sacrifice themselves constantly to perform religious rituals and help the pure, while still having an ethical imperitave to go around burning terrified women and their families to death because someone said that they once saw somewhat sooty cat in the vicinity. People like to think that there are universal elements to honour, but that just really doesn't mesh with practical observation of the concept.

I'm also of the opinion that "humanizing" the aliens is a mistake. At the core of what made XCOM cool was that you couldn't relate to these things. They're inhuman and unknowable. That made the scary. "Enemy Unknown" and all that. But now that they're going to blah blah blah at you....makes them seem more like generic NPCs to me.

That said, a little flavor isn't a bad thing.

I think it contrasts against the main aliens, though, to make the Chosen more distinct.
They're not cloned drones sent by invisible overlords - they're powerful individuals.

They're not aliens, they're orcs. They are orcs which the ethereals summoned from the fantasy universe to be the bestest most charismatic enemies possible, because that's what orcs are good at.
