Meanwhile, Jane Kelly just became my first Corporal (she is solidly a scout), and finally got an AWC perk. Blast Padding, of all things. It's pretty good for a scout I guess.

There's now a mod on the steam workshop that lets you get the bonus random perk for troopers who were denied it because they were already above the rank rolled for it to be awarded at. This also means that bought Colonels now won't be strictly inferior to those you train up.

Lost my commander attempt against the clock o' doom. I could only stop either a major breakthrough or cypher (+100% Intel cost). I didn't manage to get to a facility quickly enough and couldn't skulljack an officer either.

I've never seen a Jane Kelley survive the first mission. She always seems to get critter in cover or flanked due to over eager use of the sword ability.

Just failed a mission with 2 casualties and everyone else heavily wounded. I might reload TBH because a) I'm a little bitch like that and b) The pod placement was absolute bullshit

Can I just say that from my first skulljacking, I'm sure the hacking screen and the melee animation look really cool.  But when I did it the ADVENT officer glitched into the air and my soldier rammed the skulljack firmly into his penis.  That is not where the human mind is located.  Although I can see how you might make that mistake.
