Well, let's see why this is taking so long...

Hmmmmmmmmm...

That's right! It's downloading the launch patch at 3 bytes per second! Steam's servers must be SWAMPED.

Unpacking. Hearing bad things from PC Gamer - they call it a "reworking" of XCOM.

Looking forward to the stealth, and it seems totally random maps. Let's hope they removed that absolutely shit "aliens get a free turn" garbage when you encounter them. Then again, with a stealth/ambush system, I would think that they couldn't really do that.

We'll see how it goes. Gotta wake up in 7 hours. =/

Sheesh, Kruniac.
Just about all of the stuff you say you're unsure about is already common knowledge. For instance, it's been known for a while that aliens still get the free reaction move when they encounter you. (Concealment just allows you to fire once before they notice you [also set up overwatch traps], and to be able to start the battle on your own terms.)

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

A, and this is the full quote from PCG, "Exceptionally tough, rewarding strategy and a masterful reworking of the XCOM formula. We’ll play this forever. 94."
This question has already been asked, but I've just got to ask it again: this game was sold on the success of EU, and it was promised to be a reworking of it from the very beginning. Why is this a surprise?

Because Spore proved that just because you tell people what your game is going to be, it doesn't stop them from inventing it.

There's no point in having this discussion. In the interests of fairness in light of my obvious bias, please do not provoke MicroProse purists in the thread the same way I have demanded they not shitpost about how much they hate Firaxis X-Com.
