And suddenly, there was a great silence coming from Down Under, as if millions of commanders suddenly fixated on something.

Does anybody have a laptop/tablet with an Intel integrated GPU to test this thing on? An HD4000, specifically. I just want to know if the game will flat-out refuse to run, or if it'll merely be unplayably slow. With 40 gigabytes of required space, even pirating this game is a chore. :P

I would expect the performance to be a bit more heavy than the original XCOM: EU. It's the same engine after all, just with more stuff.

I don't think it's quite the same engine, and the GPU requirements specifically are much higher for XCOM2 than XCOM. An Intel HD4000 juuuust scrapes into the "technically plausible" range by being a DirectX 11-compatible card, but I have run into games that flat-out refuse to run on integrated cards. Cities:Skylines for instance, has been reported to crash consistently if you attempt to load a city with an intel integrated GPU, so my concern is not baseless. :)

It's the same Unreal engine brah.

So check how your card can handle XCOM: EU and maybe imagine it more taxing.

I see that the Long War Mods are up. Who's gonna have them active right away? I haven't decided yet.

To be honest they look kinda crap. Two are just adding another variant of a thing, the third sounds like it might just be a wonky attempt at mimicking a system from LW so we know it's the LW guys doing LW things.

Is this the place to create baseless rumors?

"I heard you can do counter-terror missions in X-Com2! You can drop naked porn stars inside alien compounds, who proceed to hump sectoids. Sectoids then turn into zombie-like creatures that explode when humans are born from inside them. All the porn stars look like Ron Jeremy."

I don't know about you, but stabbing aliens armed with futuristic guns with a sword sounds like a swell idea.

EDIT: Yeah so for anyone wondering, nuke the MSAA setting to save loads of fps. Holy crap maxed out AA was eating my GPU for breakfast.

Guys, guys, I caved! I'm going to have to actually take time to wrap up all of the coins in my sock drawer and take them to the bank to balance out the $57 drain on my account (Luckily it's still early enough here that I was able to get the 27% discount), but I bought it. I submit to the will of the ADVENT, and pray that they will be merciful. Probably won't actually be able to play the game until sometime next week though, what with the huge download it'll take and my friday night/weekend being pretty booked right now. :P
