*sigh*  From one of the other stories on the XCOM page: "Reinforcement [DLC] Pack includes...brand-new sixth soldier class with unique upgradeable weapons, armor and customization features."  And here I actually liked how XCOM1 handled DLC - missions, cosmetics, and the like.  A bit of pay-to-win with Slingshot giving you early battleship goodies, but you could still receive Blaster Launchers through ordinary gameplay.  As for Enemy Within, that felt less like DLC and more like a full expansion pack in the older vein of game development due to its size (and the fact that they strapped another DLC Pack - Progeny - onto it, instead of releasing that separately like Slingshot).  Unless the sixth soldier class is also secretly unlockable through ordinary gameplay, which is highly unlikely given the advert blitz so far, I think my enthusiasm just waned a bit.  I already have my preorder in place due to a GMG coupon code, but if I didn't...

Still won't be as bad as Paradox DLC; it didn't introduce or change a mechanic that fucks over anyone who doesn't pay $15 for the patch.

Hmmm reminds me of Tropico 5 where your milk industry was basically a no direction industry because cheese was locked behind DLC.

That is so fucked. Glad I never bought it.

Its kinda silly to complain that a friendly NPC isn't a well designed boss fight.

Given that it's called "Shen's Last Gift", I'd wager it's some kind of MEC suit or drone.

Now now, it's nothing personal, it's just shitposting. Someone has to do it.

The only reason I even saw and read Culise's post was because I had to see what prompted the title change (since I had started ignoring everything xcom2 a while ago).

It does sound bad, but then I thought "maybe there will be a pack with all the dlc later?"

I don't think it being in a pack would make it any better.

I don't mind it too much because it is not going to be Day1 DLC (that "honor" will go to a bunch of cosmetic stuff), so it's not stuff that was created before launch and put behind an additional paywall, instead something that will be coded and get art assets and stuff post-launch.

It's probably going to be MECs, though.
