Kaltsar sighed deeply, and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Shilleka, if you could please explain to me how that makes any sense, I would really appreciate it."

Shilleka draped an arm around Kaltsar's shoulders, gesturing grandly with the other.

"T'ink on dis, den. Dey say laugh'er is der bes' me'icine, righ'?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Oh, right. You're the one I broke out. I forgot. Probably because I was bleeding out on the ground for what felt like weeks."

"Different question. Why would they lock you up? You don't seem like a smuggler."

[Twinwolf]

"The caravan I was traveling with was attacked by bandits soon after we entered the mountains. I don't know if anyone else escaped. I don't think so. I couldn't find my way to a road, and eventually they found me. They tried to make me join them, I refused, they decided to lock me up."

"Unless you are deeply ill, Shilleka, I don't really see what that has to do with it."

Alaria nodded.

"Good. Well, I'm sure you had your reason for coming after me, but I was about to head back to the main group anyways. I simply had to send a message to those who sent us on this mission and simply wanted a bit of quiet to do so."

[Sirus]

: "How were you able to send a message? If you don't mind me asking, I mean."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Pfeh. And people say outlaws are bastards. At least we have SOME standards."

They were at the southern building's door, so Taft leaned over slightly to get at the lock with his picks.

"Caravan, huh? Carrying anything valuable that might be worth the time and effort of getting it from those bandits?"

[Twinwolf]

She shrugs.

"I don't know. Maybe. I'm not a merchant, I was just a passenger."

[GiglameshDespair]

"'e migh' be ill, I dunno. Mebbe consi'er it preven'ive me'icine fer 'im, den."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Probably out of our way anyway."

Sour grapes as usual from Taft as he worked on the lock.

"Shilleka." Kaltsar had his eyes tightly shut. "When people say laughter is the best medicine, they mean for the person laughing. If anything, your constant prodding is going to make him less healthy."

Alaria pulled out a small gemstone and tossed it to Keyleth.

"It's a new type of magic. Well, relatively new. Within the past 20 years. You can supply it with energy in the form of any of the three normal magic types and it can transmit voices. It is similar to the warp magic that sent us as far as it did only with the voice only. Apparently they are working on a version that would allow you to also project a picture of the surrounding area. The only downside is that each of these small stones can only transmit. They cannot receive. That requires a significantly larger stone. So I can give messages, but cannot hear back anything. Thankfully I know that there will always be an apprentice or two at the stone waiting for someone to say something."

Meanwhile, Taft was able to easily open the door. It creaked open and as Taft took a few steps forward, he was suddenly hit over the head!

By what seemed to be the remains of a mop. The building was clearly storage and sleeping area, with the only thing of interest being a small whistle.
