"I'll join you Angus, I've got a complete set now. I'll fit it in the morning." Kaltsar set down the last piece of the set, and followed Angus to the inn. "And while it's true that the armor won't protect me much against magic, it will protect me from swords, lances, and axes. And that's a damn sight better than my tunic."

[Sirus]

Keyleth held up her hands in a placating gesture.

: "I didn't say anything about you, or anyone else specifically, playing as a merchant. Take it easy."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Well, I'm the only pure-blood dwarf in this group, and when people say 'someone' they usually have someone in mind. I'm just saying."

[Sirus]

And I'm the only pure-blood elf, what's your point?

: "The only someone I have in mind is 'not me'," Keyleth shot back. "No one else can handle Arrna, and I doubt merchants fly on wyverns or wear armor."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"I know the stereotypes. I ain't stupid."

[Sirus]

The wyvern rider bit down on her tongue before she could say something...ill-advised. It wasn't easy.

: "...Alaria, what's your opinion?"

[Swordstar]

Alaira smiled slightly before looking back down at the map.

"The mountains are a decent idea if we are going to try and slip by any guards. That will be the shorter path to the capital though we run a greater risk of being attacked if we should be discovered. It is something that should be discussed. I will think about it and tomorrow morning we can decide more. Though perhaps we will pick someone other than Taft to be the merchant."

[SeriousConcentrate]

"Good. It would be easier for me to hide in the back, anyway. I take up less space."

[Sirus]

: "Fine by me. I'm going to go get some sleep, so I'll see you people in the morning."

Leaving her bowl at the table, Keyleth went outdoors to sleep under Arrna's protective wings.

[Haspen]

Korhal opened his eyes and stood up, bones cracking a little. The small stool he was sitting at at the corner wasn't very comfortable.

"There, I have finished my meditations. Have I missed anything important?"

Kaltsar entered the inn, grabbed a bowl of stew, and wandered over to Alaria, Keyleth, and Taft. "So what's going on over here?"

[SeriousConcentrate]

"We're talking about how to get over the border. It looks like we're going to do the old 'merchant transporting goods but actually it's us' trick. Problem is, we need a convincing 'merchant'."

[Swordstar]

Alaria sighed and stood up.

"We can continue this discussion in the morning. For now, we should all sleep. We leave tomorrow morning."

Chapter Two: Uneasy Currents

The next morning dawned and found a happy village. They'd survived bandits thanks to the strangers and life was going on. If one were to wander around the town, they would find two stores, open for business.
