Alaria let out a slight grunt as she knocked aside one of the enemy weapons and walked towards the village. She sighed and turned back to the rest of the group.

"I... acted poorly during that battle. I apologize for letting my temper get away from me. We should head into the village. That battle took too long for us to continue, and we could all use some time to rest. Bring the wounded, I have some medicine from the council that should work well."

Kaldach attempted to push himself up. On struggling a little, he planted the Devil Sword in the ground and tried to prop himself up with it.
: "Rgh... Little help, here?"

Keyleth hoisted herself back onto Arrna's back, readjusted her helmet, and flew over to pick up the bloodied swordsman.

: "Come on, you're fine. Priest will patch you up in no time once we're at the village."

: "Yeah, yeah. I'm breathing, aren't I? What, can't ask for a little help when your legs are losing pints by the second?" Kaldach stood with Keyleth's help and wiped the blade on (what was left of) the bandit leader's corpse before sheathing it, and speaking down towards him, "Let that be a lesson in favor of 'tactical retreat', brickhead."

Taft drug himself to his feet and limped after Alaria.

"Don't worry about it. Let's just get us some decent food and some bandages, all right blondie?"

: "Why are you giving him advice? He can't hear you anymore." Arrna leapt into the air and flew towards the village. Not much faster than a person could run, really.

Kaldach grunted.
: "No real reason. Just bitter over how idiotic bandits are. No matter where I go, it's the same story. Bunch of clods who think they can roll over anyone they see." Kaldach attempted to loosen up his neck, "Who knows, if the gods give him a next life, maybe he'll lose the thick skull and remember what I told 'em."

"Don't worry... greenie, there are funds for the trip, as well as medicine in my bag. I will need to get all of your names at some point. And if any of you are interested in hearing the details of the situation, we can talk later."

After a moment, he added a little more in a magnanimous tone, as if extending even this minor olive branch was equivalent to handing over a dragon's hoard.

"I suppose you can call me that too. Not that we're friends or anything."

She tossed over a bottle of medicine, clearly intending for him to drink some of it.

: "Who's to say the afterlife doesn't involve reviewing your final moments?"
Kaldach groaned a little and slanted his mouth.
: "Eh. Enough vague talk. My head's had enough for one day."
: "...You're with the canary girl, right?"

: "I was...hired at the same time she was, but I haven't worked with her before." Damn, what would humans say in this situation? "It's not like I'd want to work with an elf, right?"
