Good advice. I managed to kill both of them, the second without taking a scratch. First one put me down for a nap for a bit, but fortunately nothing came by to eat me.

Unfortunately my computer crashed not long after so I lost my progress. Guess I'll have to do it again...

I really enjoy this game, I like where these devs are coming from and I like where they're going, and most of all I like that they aren't neglecting single players.

My MO at this point is to walk around with my trike and kill everything that isn't a higher level trike.

The trick for me is to trap it in some trees. If you can lure it into think clusters of palm trees, it cant get at you. Then you can slingshot it at your leisure. It takes a long time to tame, but you now have an animal that can reliably kill almost anything else on the island outside of a T-Rex AND carry 300 weight or so.

Well. The game truly does hate me.

Two stegos killed a carno. I start harvesting the carno corpse. For some reason (I'm outright STUMPED as to why) the stegos take this as me attacking them. Get bitchslapped. My parasaur decides to come and kill them. I try to rescue my parasaur, get slapped and injured, and a stego chases me down.

I could turn on fucking godmode and the game would probably decide 'lolno, fall over dead'

You probably accidentally hit one of them. I was harvesting a tree near a stego and it walked closer and I hit it. I think they have hit boxes on their tails, and those can swing around and clip through bodies and trees and stuff.

Stegos will straight up hit you from the side with a tail swing. Safest place is in front.

Got to ride my trike. It slow as hell and use em to hold all my food.

Anyways, how useful is it to have a pack of dilos?

It took 3 of mine to kill a turtle, and that was with my assistance (two of them died). At low levels they suck, badly. We currently use them as escorts, since we don't have any past lvl 5. If a large carnivore attacks, they provide a great distraction/warning system.

REALLY easy to tame, too.

My local map just reset. By that I mean everything I cleared out has respawned.

EVERYTHING? Like, large trees too? I haven't seen that happen. I've seen palm trees and those little thin ones come back, but never in full.

Surprised me with a tree and rock sticking out of my house. Looked around and everything is in pristine condition. Trees, plants, rocks hell even the fallen trees are there. It's a good thing my house is build near the beach or else it would be filled with trees.

Same here, all the basic terrain was restored around my place.  Also, for no reason that I can fathom, my poor pet dodo attracted the agro of two brontos, and died a very quick death.  Strangely, as soon as the stupid bird was dead the brontos just went back to business as usual.

I'm sorry to have to ask...buuuuuuuut....

Is this worth a buy? Sounds like my kinda thing, but I've been stung by Early Access survival sims before.

If ya can live with crappy fps till they optimize the game more, then ya....def worth it

The amount of content is huge and the devs are incredibly active on the steam forums

Without any tweaks I'm running at about 45 fps on medium settings with a few settings jacked up on a 780

The game still looks pretty damn good at medium though and I can't wait to run it at epic with a solid 60

Should just pick it up, if it runs like crap you can always get a refund
