Yes, mages should be able to spend 2 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1.
Yes, mages should be able to spend 3 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1.
Yes, mages should be able to spend 3 mana to increase their spell's Zap roll by 1, but doing this provokes a Luck roll: on a roll of 2 or less, the spell loses one Awk.
No, this is a very bad idea.
No, this is a somewhat bad idea, I have my own ideas. (Post in thread).

Get up, just stomp on him. If the spear is still embedded, wrench it around a bit instead.

Mizlan: Swim out of the water bubble. Get the Yeti to help if necessary. Should the golem manage to find booze, take the most promising bottle, drink enough of it to restore 2 mana, and summon another monster.

Yeti: Find weapons for both himself and Mizlan. Since it has the same stronga as the golem, I assume it can dual wield too.

Golem: Assuming it needs a head to function, resist magical beheading. Hopefully, golems don't actually need heads. If that can't be done as an action, or it is still alive after Harvey's spell for whatever reason, look to see if any booze bottles fell on the floor during the grate's movements. If there is, pick them up and bring them back to Mizlan.

Everyone: If there's still time after you do your task, start throwing weapons at Harvey. From a safe distance, of course.

You could use this, if all else fails. I've used "/roll 1d6" on occasion, and it seems to work well enough.

I personally use this one

The point of keeping the golems on fire isn't for the value of fire as a weapon. It's more to keep the golems functioning at a reasonable speed.
It was never a promise. It was a dirty lie, and you all knew that. You should all know by now that you can't trust a word I say.

((The difference being those rolls are only pseudorandom instead of random! Of course, maybe that doesn't matter for my purposes. If Random.org isn't up in a few hours, I'll just find an alternative and use it.))

((Finally, it's back up!)) (1) (Yup, working.)

Turn Five: Minionmancy

INIT:
Harvey(40+10=50)
Mizlan(36)

Harvey invokes a spell against the golem's head!

Zap(4)
Awk(3+3=6)
Golem Luck(3) The golem's head is shunted off its body. It functions. But it still sees from the head. (now quite, quite, disoriented and headless.)

Mizlan blorbles some commands to his minions! The Yeti reaches into the bubble, pulling Mizlan out. The golem attempts to throw Mizlan an alcohol bottle. (1) Unfortunately the disorientation is too much. The golem stepped on a fallen bottle, then slipped on the liquid within. (lying prone, -2 to dodge)

The Yeti looks for some weapons. (5, 6, 5? really?) The yeti's limbs fly about. A few seconds later, Mizlan is holding an adamantine scimitar(+1 to Luck on critical) and the yeti is wielding a rather long adamantine spear(+1 to hit, -1 to damage) and an adamantine axe like the ones in the golem's hands. (+1 to damage)

Random Event(1) "There's nothing dangerous enough in there! Let's give em pain!" Something pokes its way out of the magma(Luck(2))... aw, a fire imp! "Oh come on, where's the clown thing?"

Spoiler: Harvey (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Mizlan (click to show/hide)

Turn Twelve: Your Expectations Are Fufilled

INIT:
Ejiro(45-10=35)
Conein(huh)
Rappier(48+10=58)

"Rappier flows like a million bows, dropping from the flame and the torchlight I see your bane, reveal your power now and prepare to die, fly now flames, fly now names, receive pain and die, die, die." Flow(3) Rappier's flow isn't working out very well, but it improves nonetheless.

Ejiro grabs the spear and wrenches it around in Conein. (3-1=2vs.1-2=-1) That still wouldn't be enough to kill him.

"Huh." Thus the scythe cuts, and the match ends.

Ejiro is the winner!

Random Event(2) Nothing odd happens at the end of the game.

Grab an adamantium short sword. Use Come Hither upon the yeti's weapons.

Mizlan: Retrieve the golem's head, and hand it back to the golem. Holding the head should fix the disorientation, right? After that, look for a booze bottle. If the end result of that search looks safe, drink enough to restore 2 mana and summon another minion.

Yeti: If Harvey's spell succeeds, hurl the spear at his shield as hard as is physically possible, making use of the extra tug to add some acceleration. Follow it up with frost breath, which should ideally follow the spear closely enough to add to its damage roll. Hold onto the axe with both hands. If come hither fails, do the same thing, but with the most throwable-looking weapon in sight rather than the spear.

Golem: Take the head from Mizlan and hold it in such a way as to relieve the disorientation. Hand one of the axes off to Mizlan if necessary. After that gets sorted out, start throwing random weapons at Harvey.

(4, 1) "And today, we see Edwin and Mage duel! How exciting!"

(3) "Now we see a Jungle Rumble, folks. Let's see how the duel plays out here!"

A shapeshifter and an elderly wizard walk into a clearing in the middle of a jungle. Ahem.
