Summon up another beard flail and dual beard flail Drake trying to knock the sword out of his hands. Try to hide behind Oric when Drake attacks me.

Sample Turn Seven: NPC Spotlight

INIT:
Drake(4+2=6)
Mage(3)
Ecco(2+2=4)
Cain(4+1=5)
Oric(1)

Drake pulls his sword from hammerspace and charges Mage! Will:(2) Agh, no.

Cain fires his Crosshatch.

Zap(2+4=6)
Awk(1+1=2)

Power is Cain's thing, but controlling his spells... not so much. (random target: (4: Cain)) Cain is hammered by his own Crosshatch!

(1+1=2vs.6+3) Cain just stands there and looks awesome as magic blows through his hair. He looks stylish.

Ecco casts Random Music Magic: target Cain!

Zap(5+3=8)
Awk(1+2=3)
Luck(2)

Something shifts. (2 or 3 will trigger a negative event this turn.)

(3+1)Mage casts... agh.

Oric laughs at Cain, then fires off another Awesome Palm Beam.

Zap(6+6 not again!)
Awk(1+3=4)

A MASSIVE beam of Awesome fires from Oric's palm (5+3 massive size vs. 3+1=4)

Cain is hit. (5+3(size)+2(high hit roll) vs. 6+3=9) Cain surprisingly minimizes the damage, still being flung back a bit, landing prone.

Random Event(2)... a door appears on the arena's edge. It then is broken down, as a SWAT team spills onto the arena. They look confused.

Sword Luck(1) Drake notices that his arms are turning to emerald. And he can't seem to drop the sword...

Well I'm ready to show of the luster of muscle, and eight is a fine enough number for a small tourney. Maybe not elimination, round robin perhaps?

To use a video game called Monster Rancher as an example

Each contestant will face off against every other one. The contestant with the most victories wins the tourney, ties must be broken. Not sure if this is a good explanation, it might be better to look it up. This would also lead to a rather large amount of matches compared to simple elimination brackets.
