Earlier tonight I had a goblin siege where one lone dwarf slaughtered around 10 goblins by himself.  I decided to erect a giant statue of said dwarf standing atop my two slum apartment buildings as a warning for any future sieges.  This would be my first mega project.  After months of careful planning and construction, we completed the giant sculpture in the dwarf's image.

Currently a melancholy dwarf from a failed mood is trying to drown himself in a 5/7 pool, whicbh he swims in effortlessly.

My legandary, perfectly agile miner got fireballed by an imp while uncovering the magma pipe today.

Eventually, I deconstructed the bed he was on (My fort has no water. Or trees.) and he got himself a nice brewski. Lucky me. He also murdered the fire imp who nearly killed him before he went down, as well.

The other four imps got slaughtered by my two marksdwarves. Speaking of which, my fort quadrupled in size. In one immigration wave.

I was prepared, somehow.

Oh, and nearly half my fort is Elite Wrestlers.

It's not an embark so much as seven dwarves having a simultaneous strange mood and going off to build an artifact fortress that menaces with spikes of awesome and hanging rings of death.

A magma man slaughtered most of my population. How do you tell your military to actually attack those guys? Should they go after those guys automatically or should you designate them as enemies or something?

They're considered "wildlife," so it helps if your squad is told to "harass dangerous animals".

All I could think was, YEAH I BET YOU WOULD BE THIRSTY HUH? And then she bled out.

I don't think she found it very funny.

Created a new fortress. Have a mag-pipe and a river full of sea lampreys and CARPS!

.... I caught a snatcher with a child once that way.  Bloody odd having a cage with a thing holding a small cage inside, with a child inside that.
Yo, we heard you liked captives.  So we put a cage in your cage, so you can capture while you're capturing!

Since Mirrorallies is now as complete as I care to make it, I made a new folder, modded in a [SIZE:15] [DAMBLOCK:10] steel wielding aggressive custom "Orc" race, and embarked at "Streamportal", 4x4 forest with magma pipe, freezing, no infinite water source, and have begun constructing my 1st wooden fortress. it's going to be made entirely of wood, and save for a small basement I already dug out, and the mine/quarry, will be above ground entirely, and all constructed floors, walls, stairs, etc. will be made of wood, all the tables, chairs, doors, caskets, trap weapons, etc will also be made of wood.
:) Just wanted to try something different, because I normally embark on temperate limestone mountains and make everything I can from  metal and stone.

so far, I made a small walled in area to wait out any early orc/goblin visits, dug out the basement, and began making the 1st floor outine wall.

I created a bronze colossus civ-race for the lulz. It didn't work out too well, though, because I'm not really sure how to make it WORK.

So I finaly decided to try out the dig deeper mod (not that this is important to this post), I also considered trying the Adam and Eve challenge with only my starting seven, but quickly discarded the idea when I found out I had only one male and six female dwarves.  Im now going to build a fort where only women can be woodcutters and the military shall be made only of champion women axedwarves.

Why?

Because this is Womenaxe!

Insert stock "But we have to for the good of our species" speech here.

Oh my, I suddenly want to get a superdwarvenly tough dwarf and have their throat ripped out. Then let them socialise for a few years. Ideally, they will become legendary in all the social skills, implying that I have successfully taught my dwarves sign language.
