Gravearmor's pop has reached 556 in fort year 51.
Little girl Zon went crazy and died of thirst before committing another crime.
Work continues...
556? How is your FPS doing?
50 or so.
j/k it's about 5-7

I just noticed we have a 9 year old that works out in the gym (pump operator).

FPS in Gravearmor (925+ dwarves) is 2-5 (v0.47.05 lives on).

It's crashing on the next day and if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.
Edit: It was a genetic issue with a birth offmap and Putnam saved the day with a quick fix.
Code: [Select]
:lua df.nemesis.find(6405).figure.info.wounds.childbirth_year=-1

Thanks for sharing the Lua snippet, but unfortunately it's unlikely to work for anyone else in this case (it's essentially removing the pregnancy of the 6405th historical figure in your world).

There was a typo in the siegers' campfire code. When the fires went out, so did the game.

Just gave up on my second fort because I dug down 30+ z-levels through light aquifers without totally breaching the aquifers.  I found one seemingly dry level that I started building workshops in, about 5 levels below the surface, and assumed I was past the aquifer.  Then as I started digging out a residential block on the level below and found more damp stone.  At the 30 z-level point I hit the caverns, and realized I wasn't going to be able to build a fort I was satisfied with.

Oh well, my expedition leader was hit by the no head graphical bug, which reloading didn't seem to fix, so I probably needed to restart anyway.  I hate to disable aquifers but this is getting pretty irritating, so maybe I just need to stop embarking near rivers.

I'd have enjoyed that save as a challenge, but graphical bug sounds like the version I'm not playing.

In my current fort I got two friendly necromancers in one migrant wave. One was promptly elected mayor; by great good fortune she likes grates, and has banned their export. That's better than the starting dwarf carefully groomed for social skills she replaced.

Over 300 dwarves currently dumping boulders going up & down 4 stairs (lower left) and FPS is 8.  Not bad.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

this screen reminded me heavily of the old techniques from the 2d versions, to avoid cave-ins. After 3d and the removal of room size limitations, this 'pillar style' of construction was unnecessary for most players, and lost to time. I have such a fondness for the effect.

I failed to notice they butchered the dragon, until I found this in the kitchen.

I'm in the middle of homebrewing a Pathfinder campaign based on a world I generated years ago and had an idea to save time on maps that I would use fortress mode to design the areas for the party and screen shot then grid it to have maps!

Seems true to the original inspiration

First, a duck, found dead in the pastures. Then, a cat, strangled in full view of the whole tavern, staring aghast at the small child holding the dead animal proudly.

We should have ended it there, but we were too sympathetic. The next week, a hapless stonecutter was murdered. Punched to death in the staircase. The small fists, like steel darts, crushed the skull of the victim.

Logem is 9 years old and already a triple-murderer.

Immigrant wave brought a preemie, negative 108 days old. Worse, DF classes her as a child not an infant, so she's walking around under her own power.

Also apparently I don't know how insert images work on this site, an imgur link between the Insert Image tag doesn't work for me. How are you guys doing it?

Two children are playing in the atom smasher on top of the mountain of rotting elf corpses that they have hauled and are retching in the cloud of miasma that surrounds them.

Surprisingly, the only one throwing a tantrum is the weredonkey dwarf child locked up for years with the skeletons of their fellow weredonkey dwarves in the makeshift hospital cell. Soon he'll be old enough to be drafted on a suicide mission.

What a Dwarf Fortress pair of sentences.
