Had an elven ambush the other day, appearing right in the middle of a pack of 100 goblins. The elves lost instantly, and didn't manage to even move further than one tile into the map.

My dwarfs polished and collected even the last copper helmet but no amount of forbidding, reclaiming and dumping made them touch the heaps of instrument parts, splints, cages and bracelets that the grown-wood faction brought along.

Only the children rejoice, declaring this last corner of the map, situated beyond every defence structure, their favourite playground. Needless to say, this is the very corner where I expect the next invasion... these kids better grow up quickly!

During a siege, I spied this funny thought. I guess that's pretty much every warrior that ever went to battle, huh?

the dwarves . . . they drown themselves. the river's water calls to them and, under this dark influence, they fling themselves from the battlements and drown in the shallow riverbed. I've lost eight dwarves and two picks to this phenomenon. Oddly enough, the drownings do not have anything to do with waterfalls, and the particular bug or mechanic that causes the dwarves to kill themselves at that particular elbow bend, under those particular trees... I have not a clue what it is.

Some ancient curse flows in that stream. We must build the walls higher. Higher! Don't let the dwarves see the water, give into temptation. Brick by brick we hide this haunted forest stream.

Quite possibly, the worst helmet ever forged. :P It doesn't even protect the wearer, since fire is a gas!

It's like an opposite day helmet, it hurts more than it protects.

Turns out Utharaptors are a lot better at defense than velocriraptors.

Utahraptors were about the size of a human - they're really what are called velociraptors in Jurassic Park. Velociraptors were a bit bigger than chickens, for comparison. I reckon the mod is accurate.

A troglodyte died of, presumably, forgotten beast extract syndromes, fell out of a tree, and landed on and injured another troglodyte. Theres several of them are unconscious under the tree.
