How are your vampires not slowing down to a crawl?
Vampires can't drink booze, but since they are dwarves, they NEED booze, so they should all be going through withdrawals.

I edited the raws.

Wouldn't this be the perfect place for a tavern and many tavern keepers?  Since even vampires drink anything that is given to them in a cup, they will drink booze.  Not only that, but you will have a steady stream of victim^H^H^H^Hsitors who will fall unconscious from the large amounts of booze given to them...

I'd think they'd report the crime of draining visitors. Unless draining visitors isn't a crime?

Otherwise, yeah.

So part of my embark is a reanimating terrifying biome. A marmot corpse came wandering in and got a little too close to my fort. A nearby fisherdwarf charged in and started getting wrecked. At this exact moment, a were-camel showed up, charged them both and the marmot corpse and dwarf basically exploded. The were-camel tore up my pastured animals and charged into my fort, but just before hitting a cage trap it transformed into a human child and wandered off, which was too bad...

Meanwhile the marmots head and the dwarfs left arm reanimated. The head was caged and a passing dwarf kicked the arm into submission. I'm smelting iron to make weapons and armor to deal with the undead nuisance.

Elves brought a giant skink and a giant chipmunk. Only two merchants, no guards or caravan.

Gave them a buncha free gems when I ran out of excuses to buy their worthless elven trade goods, in the hope that they'd bring more next year.

There are no trees on my embark, even thought it said Scarce(which I've found to be enough to build with for the most part) All I've been doing is buying all their wood once the elves come. They can eat shit, I need that wood, my legendary+5 marksdwarf/crossbowdwarf almost went insane during a Mood because i had none.

Also this embark is by far my most successful, no ones died from thirst this time, i learned my lesson about building a reservoir underground. Well, besides that one guy who was trapped by the jeweler station. Didn't notice until miasma came to visit.

I'm sorry I drew a dwarf with a giant fluffy bee hat and little bee pins woven into his beard wearing bee slippers and a pennant that said buzzzzzz buzzzz and then I accidentally threw it away.

Please imagine it.

I removed announcements.txt so the game could run without pausing.

I didn't notice we were attacked by elves until  found a dead hammer lord in the tomb and several dead elves and wolverine men.

There was also a cardinal man spear man in the air.

Edit*

Oh, it is an ambush! Several cardinal men just appeared from thin air but the marksdwarves took care of them.

"The Savanna Titan Duslud Kethitni Cilomomba Loli has come!  A huge quadruped composed of flame.  It has two long, spiral horns and it moves deliberately."

A few militia dwarfs, a kid, and some cats die.
Twenty caged goblins, humans, and badgers die.
Some barrels of wine and blood explode.
Many trees burn.

"The militia commander hacks the savanna titan in the neck with her ðsilver battle axeð and the severed part sails off in an arc!"

There are still some fires working their way through the trees and the militia commander is looking pale (missing fat on upper and lower body).

Guess you're lucky it's just a loli titan, not the grown up one.

Creatures composed of flame or water or salt or ash are easy to kill, despite the power they wield, their materials are fragile. Steam creatures are tricky though, if you can hit them in the first place, they die easily as well.

Edit*
Wait, the Titan was called Lili? LOL
Interesting.
