the biggest siege i ever had on 42.x
There's a lot of goblin recruits, even weaker than the regular gobs soldiers.
That said, goblins troop never feature weaponmasters anymore (they did back in 34.11), so because my squads are full of many iron armored legendary, the odds are in fact that the goblins have absolutely no chance.
I order the troops to move to the south of my entrance bridge, a location that has served me well to contain the legions that attacked my fortress in all those years.
The battle starts, the mounted gobs charge into the bridge, only to face very determined dwarven defenders running toward them
It's now melee on the bridge, the dwarves hold bravely and nothing of the gobs horde manage to pass the bearded wall.
After a long battle, the end is coming near, giant mountains of gobs, beak dogs and trolls and the dwarves are still holding stronger than titans
Though a few dwarves made the ultimate sacrifice to protect their brothers and sisters.
This is it, the battle is now finished, the dwarves are victorious once more and legions of gob corpses are just there rotting in the sun.
6 dwarves from the 40 defenders died in this Thermopylae-like battle, to my surprise most of the dead are legendary.
The cleaning of all that stuff will take a long time.
