The minecart grinder scored its third forgotten beast. The second one had been the hardest - a gargantuan
kite that was surprisingly quick and good at dodging. It was still blocked by a later bridge and distracted by the doors at the well house and eventually tried to murder some more crundles, which could only be reached by going out through the grinder again, which didn't work so well that time. The third beast was easy by comparison, just walked headfirst into a 200k speed platinum minecart, got thrown around and had vital bodyparts mashed after a while.
A bit later, some crundles tried to visit the fort, also through the grinder. Massive showers of crundle parts resulted.
A goblin from one of our dysfunctional sieges got stuck at the map edge for a year and a half. Dropped a minecart on top of her/him, gobbo dodged out of the way and _another one_ showed up, similarly stuck. I built a path to hopefully funnel caravans through them (let them deal with those idiots), but the opportunity was snapped up by a stealthy visitor. Good work, unnamed werelizard! I can only hope this gets the goblin civ unstuck.
And an ettin showed up on the heels of the elven caravan. With some luck, the depot bridge was closed before the visitor got into sight range of the war animal pasture and diverted through the surface grinder. The kill was effected by brain damage to both heads.
Apart from that light entertainment, we finally caught up with our farm overproduction by cooking ~2500 meals and making ~2000 booze; stocks are 5000 food and 6000 booze currently. Yikes.
