After visualizing some especially funny prepared meals recently, I decided to start the DF food thread, and so am shamelessly advertising for it. Visit it in DF mode discussion, if you have some DF meals you'd like drawn, or want to contribute any discussion here for it!

Finally, after so many right gauntlets and mittens, the fully artifact suit of steel and cave spider silk armour is done! This suit of armour is worth more than everything else in the fortre-save corrupted...

So can someone tell me how the hell demons can access the magma sea once I crack open Hell? I swear to Armok there were no openings from their fiery domain to the slightly more fluid but no less fiery upper territory. And yet about fifteen of the bastards squeezed through some crack somewhere after I broke open their infernal zone. If the demons could access the magma sea from hell, then there ought to have been magma flowing down but I saw none of the blood of Armok leaking into their area. This is abyssally frustrating. So long as they have free access via some secret passage, I can't open hell safely without also somehow draining the magma sea around that zone and sealing it off.

They just do.
I guess it is a bug of vertical diagonal path finding. Demons are flyers and swimmers at the same time I guess.

My mayor has refused to meat with the liason for the past 6 months despite having no labors enabled. So I'm going to launch him across the map with a bridgeapult and hope his successor shows more competence.

They still haven't found the mayor I think I might have flung him off the map

How much of it did you have at the last save?

2. Fire the hammerer
3. Build a prison
4. Start fulfilling mandates, if the new duke has any
5. ?
6. Profit.

I guess assigning a uniform to him MIGHT work, too.

i like the duke. he is legendary everything in military. and i have a prison.

the duke just seemingly ignores this fact and still continues to hammer people in...

I don't appoint a hammerer at all.

They only...hammer.

i placed it vacant as well after i realized how stupid it is to have a legendary hammer dwarf act as a hammerer....but i still seem to get people dying

Do you have a captain of the guard armed with a weapon other than a crossbow?
This guy hands out beatings as a form of punishment.
Obviously you might not want him to have this awesome *adamantine battle axe*, he might get a little bit carried away, you know.

So kind of like traditional chinese medicine or homeopathy

I'm severely tempted to demote my Commander and promote him to Hammerer. Point? He's got a golden artifact warhammer and is a hammerdwarf himself. I'm utterly terrified by the idea that any Dwarf in the Fort can at any moment be executed on the whim of a neurotic noble Dwarf. Considering it is a Prison Fort... I must have Dwarven justice, or it just won't be right.
