i added another necro to the pit.....

still no zombies....would the fact the entered in ambush have anything to do with it.
I've heard necros only raise dead if there's a hostile in their line of sight. try putting a war dog behind fortifications in their line of sight or something.

...Probably? I think as long as it's a tame animal (ie a member of the fort) then it should be seen as hostile to the necro. Try it and see. An alternative quick way to check would be to drop the (presumably disposable) puppy straight in the pit and see if that gets a response. Obviously wouldn't last long as a creature behind fortifications, but it'd be an easy way to see if it fixes the problem.

A bunch more idiots are falling off the scaffolding. Two guys already broke both arms. Well, more training for the doctors, but I hate the lost productivity when half the hell workers are in bed.

There's one dwarf that keeps trying to get up when the docs try to take him to surgery. He was wounded before and it kept happening and now it's happening again. It's annoying because he's one of the worst wounded, but I saw him drag himself to the food stockpile by one arm, grab a jabberer meat roast, drag himself to a table, and eat it. What could be causing this?

Also, my metalcrafter was taken by a fey mood! I hope he makes something cool!

Well, I dunno what the problem is then. Still think a war animal or maybe some gobbos might trigger a response but if that doesn't work I dunno what to tell ya.

A titan has come to visit "Minemazes".

The Brush Titan Hode Sanaethra Edethnifih Nubpo has come! A towering three-eyed serpent. It has a spiral shell and emanates an aura of giving and kindness. Its chartreuse scales are blocky and close-set.

Hm, I didn't see any thoughts of giving or kindness in the soldiers involved in killing the thing.
They gave it death. That's the greatest gift you can give a snake with a shell. Seriously, how does it even move without that shell getting in the way?

I can just imagine the dwarves in the hospital complaining to each other.

"Ah, shit, my leg is broken."
"Your leg is broken? Both my arms are broken!"
"Hey! My leg and both my arms are broken, so you two can just shut up and take it."
"Yeah, that's fair. And then there's that lucky bastard who fell twice and only got bruises."
"Well, at least we're not dead."
"True."

EDIT: I realized that I could add the main hospital to the Hell burrow without connecting it and it would work fine, so I did and now my doctors don't have to run up and down the stairs from the main hospital near the surface and the makeshift hospital in hell for supplies.

"Sir? Sir! Please stay still so we can treat you!"
"I didn't drag myself up this staircase with one hand so I could sit there while you bandage my owchies! I'm here to see my woman!"
"She's fine, sir. She's in traction right now. She's asleep."
"Well then, I might as well drag myself to a hospital bed then, since I came this far already!"

I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

I've decided to start decorating my goods before I assign them to the military.  Here's the best one so far (note - this isn't an artifact!).

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

"This is a masterfully crafted cat tallow roast. The ingredients are superiorly minced cat tallow, superiorly minced dwarven wine, and superiorly minced dwarven beer."

Yum yum, a staple of dwarven cuisine.

A ghost merchant appeared in my workshop level. Then I found the blown up corpse of the merchant in my well.
