Unfortunately a necromancer managed to find the tomb floor. So all 357 dwarves who've died at my hands rose up to slaughter the living. That being said my mayor turned to be surprise, surprise a vampire along with his new friend marksdwarf #7 the vampire so they just ignore the undead and the undead ignore them. Now its just two dwarves slowly killing them one by one.
350 dwarves suddenly rising out of their coffins in synch?
That sounds amazing.

Electrum, pedophilia, and necrophilia at the same time!?
I just found a barrel which contained a wheelbarrow. Inside the wheelbarrow was another barrel. I don't even understand how that is possible.

That sounds truly amazing. The fact that you have two dwarves who are unaffected by the issue and can just make the necessary security adjustments without being slaughtered makes it even funnier.

Back in Murdermachines, I managed to mod cats to resurrect the dead.

Murdermachines has miles of catacombs.

It was epic.

WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THIS SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA?

The other day in the hip adventurer cousin of this thread:
well lost a fort attempt to zombies, completely unaware to what went down reclaim the site order a guy to dismantle a door and lost the fort again to zombies.
I only realize now that I kinda gave cats the ability to raise the dead and my locked in goblin fort all died to a zombie outbreak.
so much for that plan on ghost adventurers.

My expedition leader just happened to be worshipping a deity of war, death and fortresses. The best part? The deity is a SKELETON! And her name is ULAR:

I'm just blown away at how badass this is. My expedition leader is from this moment on known as Skeletor. Praise ULAR!

Bone structure? Or maybe skeletal doesn't mean literally a skeleton, just with skin clinging very tightly to bones.

Started on a terrifying land. A zombie giant mantis came and slaughtered the dorfs...
I reloaded the backup save and now the first wild animal wave didn't have any undead, lucky.

A were lizard attacked and 3 civilans who were collecting wood managed to kill it before the militia arrived, one of these guy was a woodcutter.
I had a hospital and doctors ready, so they got their wounds treated without problem.

Then I remember werebeast curse is contagious, and therefore the 3 of them wuld turn into lizardsthe next full moon.
So I installed beds and put food and booze in one of the abandoned mining tunnels and sealed them there.

Were creatures dont attack each other right?

I just learnt my civilization was ruled by a dwarf necromancer at year 1 ... I'm unsure how I feel about that.
Looking at statues can be very usefull sometimes.

Had a problem I haven't had in a very long time... WATER problems.  I cut down a mushroom that was blocking my pump's access to water.  The pump led to a drop shaft so I could muddy a room and then plant some farms.

When I cut the mushroom, with no warning, the room started flooding... because the game decided that the mushroom roots were part of the ceiling.  I was so aggravated at the room full of water I retired the fortress.  I will reclaim in a few years and see if they managed to resist the urge to open the forbidden door...

I'm new to succession forts in general, yes, but do all forts designed by multiple overseers inevitably degenerate into a body-filled labyrinth of chaos and despair like this? Or is this just a Battlefailed thing?

There isn't much middle ground between killed-by-dragon and never-seen-by-dragon.

Some zombie albatross came to the map. Fortunately they don't know how to open doors.
