Will that heal when he transforms?

I'm not sure... I'm not even totally sure how the transformation mechanics work. Do Dwarves get infected if they're bitten by another infected Dwarf, or does it have to be the original beast that bit them in order for the infection to spread?

If it can spread from infected to infected then it'll be interesting to see if he gets un-gelded when he becomes a tortoise of the night, I'll keep you notified.

@TheFlame52: ah I see, so does it require them to be scratched and not bitten for the infection to spread?

Being bitten (and only bitten, not scratched or whatever) by any werebeast will spread the infection, not just the original.

I suspect they will magically regrow their gonads. I don't think any injury state is saved between transformations.

Being bitten by any werebeast will spread the infection, but ONLY if the initial bite breaks the skin. Shaking doesn't count.

Ah I see, yeah looking at the wiki too I think I may be safe, as the 6th of Moonstone just passed with no transformations taking place. So I got incredibly lucky given that about 3~4 Dwarves had a chunk taken out of them. Thanks for the info!

Last time that happened to me I locked all suspects in a room. One out of three was infected, but the others didn't last past the first full moon as a result. Ah well, all for the greater good.

I've heard Minecart Airlines Express offers nice trips to nobility. Alternative trips include a voyage over the volcano. Call 1-800-I-THE-GUINEAPIG-VOLUNTEER and book now!

Ha! I just checked out that poor Gelded Dorf, and it turns out that his dream was to raise a family... what are the odds, eh?

Actually, looking at this guy he's a bit of a one... not only does he get restless from resting, but he doesn't like fighting, leisure time or commerce and on top of it all he values nature...

...I feel that Armok is punishing him for being the least Dwarfy Dwarf to have ever lived.

Next time I get a bonecarving mood I'm doing the Planepacked glitch. I have way too much bone and it will be nice to get rid of some of it all of it so I can butcher more stuff.

EDIT: I've started work on the magma pump stack. It's looking good so far, but I've only designated part of it. The rest is just markers so I can plan it out later. I have a little bit of experience with pump stacks, but this is only my second one.

Trying to repair my stockpile links while watching my miners carve circles around a blue spike all the way up to the next cavern level and watching my valley flood while I install new pressure plates at the bottom of my canal.

Putting the miners in a unit was a good idea I knew I should've implemented sooner, and I did it just as newbie miners came in with a wave that broke what I thought was my hard pop cap. Oh well, I conscripted enough rugged but unskilled immigrants to fill the squad roster and set them up a floor of quarters as nice as the elite barracks. They're eager to train and a few have military experience, so if they aren't caught up in mining ability by the time I'm ready to start breaking blue, they can get sent to training while the legendaries take over. And when I breach the cavern, I can have them stand as live targets for whatever comes at my miners while they're digging a new bunker. I'll try to get them all adamantine picks even if I don't have a legendary weaponsmith by that time.

Miners are digging out the lower half of the pump stack - I had to split it to get around a troublesome water-filled cavern. Don't flood the magma forges, that would not be good.

Why didnt you use 3 rooms?

Easier to get them all in one room, and they took up less space when all put together. Plus, none of them were particularly skilled.

If you manually go through the combat logs, you can find out who got bit.

Too much effort. I used to do that for every military unit involved. Easier just to lock up the suspects.

A mechanic died of old age and then a legendary mechanic got killed by a jabberer. What a shame :(

EDIT: The first section of the pump stack is complete! Now I have to hook it up to the second section and build all the pumps. I also found a giant sparrow skull totem that had a picture of my spearmaster laboring next to a picture of a god laboring. Are my bonecarvers implying she's a god? If so, that's awesome.
