Sorry for double posting
Would I be able to drown it if the river flows down there for long enough?
Doubt it.

More likely the beast instant-vaporizes the water on contact, which leads to lots of steam rising up and a perfectly dry fire-beast.

If you must kill the damn thing get a marks dwarves squad trained up, and then have your miners dig a shaft that gives them a good angle. Otherwise simply ignore this level of the caverns until you a) need that cavern and b) have the squad.

I have the squad ready

So emptying an entire underground lake upon it will just result in a giant steam cloud?

It has nothing to do with steam.
If I recall correctly, FBs can't be drown. At least I never saw them drown.

So...after the web-spitting Titan showed up...this guy shows up only a few months later.

First I get my first monster creature that spits webs, and now I get my first deadly dust creature in the same year. I've never dealt with these guys before, so any advice while I have all of my dwarves hiding in their hole in the ground?

A fire spitting scaly shrimp forgotten beast came.
It attacked a troll and badly wounded it.
At first I thought the troll was dead. But it gored the FB and the latter slammed into an obstacle and died.

Some mushroom trees caught fire, but the troll got away by climbing along the cliff.

Goblins came. For 4 years they had been quiet. When I thought they had gone for good, they caught me off guard.
Two woodcutters died. One of them was a legendary warrior, but when he didn't have his uniform, he didn't stand a chance.

Now I had only 18 dorfs left, but finally I could have some fresh migrants.

tie...though technically the fb lasted about a minute longer then the dragon before bleeding out.

love the irony of a fire breathing lizard killing a dragon that's forgotten how to breath fire

cave dragon and fb stew anyone?

The Forgotten Beast Asdosuthgur has come!  A towering humanoid composed of grime and filth.  It has a knobby shell and it has a gaunt appearance.  Beware its deadly spittle!

Asdosuthgur, Forgotten Beast
"The Bad Demon"

No body wants to drink this.

Finally killed the filth FB.

The duchess of Laborclutch bites The Forgotten Beast in the head, chipping it!

In a fit of rage I channeled out the lake to dump into the pit
Lost 3 miners, two were legendary
My doctors are to scared to do their jobs, I fear my spear squad has become infected, one of the weremice transformed back to dorf so I can't kill em
There is blood and vomit all over the fort and way too much mismatched items

This was a very fun fort to say the least

You can't kill a dwarf? What sort of player are you? Just assign it a room and dump magma on it/cave it in.

On the item is an image of a dwarf and an elephant. The elephant is striking down the dwarf.

It's not that I don't have the means to kill him I just forget which one it was

I remember it was a noble so I gathered all the nobles in the baroness's room and caved in the roof
Then retired the fort because it was going to hell
Might return to it in a few years
