A giant peregrine was in the throne room.
At first I thought it was a peahen. "Wait, isn't that a P instead of p?"

I don't know if there was a hole or I just locked it inside when I raised the bridge.

Lock him there alongside your noble! Peregrines are intimidating creatures, so are nobles! Following this logic, they will get along well, they may even become best friends! After some months open hell's gate the throne room and let all your dwarves bow down to the new king's pet!

I have taken it upon myself to bridge the mainland to an inland island (that realy isnt an island, its just surrounded by a sea to the north and west and hostile mountains) to allow the dwarves of The Fences of Drumming to exploit the resources there.

EDIT: Project canceled due to the terrifying ocean's cloud causing anyone caught in it to be husked. Civilians are slowly being murdered by the carpenter who was fishing near the cloud that spawned practically on top of him.

My fort's receiving lots of migrants.
The atom-smasher room has been busy recently.
The king and the expedition leader have been busy making slabs.

Well this is not totally bad news, at least I have something to increase the value of the throne room.

I used legends viewer to check me current civilization.

To my surprise there are 9 kings in its 57 years of history.

1)  1 the dwarf Asmel Craftsubmerged (killed by a hydra)
2)  7 the goblin Catten Minecat (killed by a titan)
3)  13 the dwarf Ducim Guildknives (killed by a FB)
4)  24 the dwarf Domas Paintsunken (killed by a troll)
5)  26 the dwarf Urdim Chapelfence (killed by a minotaur)
6)  31 the dwarf Rith Roadgalley (killed by a cyclops)
7)  46 the dwarf Inod Portaltruth (killed by the hydra that killed the first king)
8 )  49 the dwarf Ustuth Stakehumid (conquered and killed by goblins)
9)  56 the dwarf Udil Syrupabbeys (my fort)

This fort, in a terrifying glacier with a bit of terrifying tundra mixed has had the least deaths so far in the past week. 1 citizen dead from failing a mood, and several merchants dead with most having their heads caved in from the local yeti and muskox corpses.

No, the yeti that do show up never leaves it looks like and i just retired it because nothing was happening in the fort and i wanted to reclaim the surface from hordes of undead, not just a few corpses.

Something I really like is that dwarves will haul more than one object. This is most often seen with herbalism, but if you have a bunch of gems that need hauling, it'll happen as well.

So, gays are in the game now? Cool.

I glanced at dwarf therapist trying to figure out why my dogs and chickens wouldn't breed and found out I embarked with a gay dog and a gay rooster. Not so cool :(

God damn if I went through all the trouble of catching a pair of sea serpents and one of them turned out to be gay I would join the westboro baptists on the spot.

Yeah, gay animals is sure to be rage-inducing.

Besides I'm pretty sure "gay" animals are in fact bisexual.

Maybe exclusive homosexual behavior in great apes... elephants... crows... dolphins... etc, but homosexual arthropods ? Really ?

And asexual animals ? What ? Does it even exist ?

Exclusive homosexuality is not reported in many animals. One of the few I can think of is sheep. Far more animals should simply be bisexual and mate with whoever is available. The whole idea of "animal marriage" needs a big overhaul.
