I made a cistern under my dining room and i channeled towards it from the frozen brook. The miner finished mining the cistern and fell asleep IN THE CISTERN. The ice melted, he drowned, and the dining room and statue garden flooded because I was too busy trying to get him out to water-proof the rest of that level.

Not sure if dying of old age is an honor or a shame for weaponmasters. On the one hand, it means they never got the opportunity to die in glorious battle. On the other hand, it means nothing could beat them in glorious battle.

A vile force of darkness has arrived!

Yay goblins! Time to send out the militia! Let's see, how many are there?

Ten? This is a fort of ninety-eight dwarfs, twenty of which are in the military. They don't stand a chance.

Ha ha ha. Kill them all!

The only casualty was some hunter who thought it was a good idea to slowly haul a wombat corpse into the burrow.

And here I thought that bug regarding dorfs refusing to drop what they're hauling and make for the burrow had been fixed. Perhaps the bug report needs to be revived or submitted anew?

Come to think of it, Ive been having the same problem, but additionally, once dorfs reach the burrow hauling something that belongs in a stockpile outside the burrow, or perhaps started in the burrow before the alert was set, refuse to give up on the hauling job and spam complaints about being unable to reach the stockpile endlessly until the item is forbidden.

I had a random dorf who decided to carry a dead camel into the burrow. Nothing made him drop it so I had to send a squad to recue him. A soldier died but they saved the stupid dorf. ::)

Metalsmith mooded, made a golden spear.
Alright, not too useful, but really valuable.
I honestly don't know what to do with it.

Make an upright spear trap as furnishing to improve noble rooms.

With a few mechanisms and a lot of luck, it could function as a simplistic noble-gelding machine.

Sounds like a plan.
Now to wait for picky nobles.
Given that a migrant wave brought the total amount of dwarves to 100, I think a baron might get involved at some point.

Even better! Create more 15 of them and set up them around the noble's room. All around it!

Did you hear the one about the white-browed gibbon and the forgotten beast?

Last words of the militia captain of the Cavern Expedition Team before succumbing to hunger. I actually feel a bit bad for killing misleading my citizens but for some reason pop cap of 110 didnt work...

Update: CYCLOPS!

Alright, I'd better have the military station just at the entrance of the fort. They're not all well trained but they should be able to just rush him... wait.

I did not know creatures could do that.

I did not know creatures could do that! Run, you fools!

NO! One of my good woodworkers, AND my manager!?

Well, shit, I guess I'm in for a fight. Maybe if I raise the bridge I can buy some time to carve out some fortifications and ... uh. What?

Wait, what?

Oh... uh, good work guys.

Dwarven Birth Control. This needs to become a thing.
