Question: has anyone done any science about Necromancers raising Forgotten Beast corpses? I have two necromancers I use to make training fodder for my army, and want to give the now legendary beasts a challenge.

I'm assuming it would be like with regular corpses but I'm not sure.

A small goblin siege has arrived.
Somehow, though, it's smaller than the ambush that happened before.
Mostly crossbowmen. Let's let them approach us a bit, and see if they freeze.
EDIT: Just found out why part of the last squad was dizzy and numb; the clouds of blighted gloom do that. This siege is going to be fun.

Then I shall report back with my findings.

There is currently a minor problem in that the veteran demons fighting in the corpse factory have failed to die in the 2 year battle and have become legendary unkillable gods of war. I may have misjudged this possible outcome.

Using (and abusing) the Planepacked glitch gave me something EVEN MORE VALUABLE THAN THE LAST ONE.
At a striking 90.756 million dorfbucks, it is probably the most valuable thing ever made in Dwarf Fortress.
Sadly, it's a bracelet, but whatever.
It has 46 pictures of itself on it and appears to contain all the history of my glacier and my civilization.

My entire Fortress is worth more.

Granted, it's my entire Fortress. But still, you must planepack higher! If you get it to the billion then I doubt anyone will ever be able to compete at all without consuming 4 adamantine spires worth of crap.

A goblin siege came to my fort, 6 squads strong including two crossbowgoblin squads.

One of the squads is commanded by Elven Axe Lord called 'Lafo Poisonmenaces the Razor of Destruction' and let me tell you that I'm a bit worried now.

A billion (english billion, not a million million)?
That'd take ~2800 refined adamantine, or 3350 raw adamantine, or 280.000 obsidian or 840.000 common stone; in _one_ artefact.

One complete z-level gives about 10.000 stone when excavated. A dwarf can carry maybe ten stones to a workshop in a dwarf day (normally much less, but let's assume a well-supplied stockpile on top of the workshop). That's 280 per month, 3000 months = 250 years.

I guess it's not _very_ feasible when working with common rock.

UPDATE: Pffffffft. The so called 'Razor of Destruction' got one, ONE bolt in her guts and she was all sprawled on ground already. My sworddorves chopped her up.

In total, 3 goblin squads annihilated, 1 half-destroyed and the rest of gobbos ran away. No casualties amongst Zanegushat's city soldiers, and the heaviest injury is broken ankle.

'Razor of Destruction' my ass, pfft.

The first one was a test to see if the system worked.
The second was to see what happens.
The third one to involve adamantine will be struck with so much of that metal the entire workshop room will be just one big block of adamantine.

A child had a mechanics mood and my miner founder had a mining mood, even though he was already legendary. Also, one of my founders died when an elk bird ripped off his arm. :'( He took the thing with him, though. I entombed him in a platinum sarcophagus in his bedroom, then locked the door. Also, a forgotten beast came and died to the reptile people in the third cavern. Now one of them is friendly. I also caught a giant mole, which is being trained. I now have breeding pairs of cougars, ravens, and black bears from the elves. The human and impish caravans got stuck on each other on my depot. Also, I now have even more meat, about 5000, because more orcas washed up, but region-pops says there are no more.

My fort is almost at 10,000 units of meat.
Plans to make meat/bridge catapults are currently being thought about and planned.

A GCS named Apohoth just killed tree of my hunters, all legendary, and a weaver.  :'( I was doing so well. On the bright side, this is a 6 year old fort and I only have 20 coffins.

All but one of the coffins in my fort hold a pet.
The other one is a soldier who got overwhelmed by demons.

Apparently wool can turn into a zombie like hair does. Luckily it was already dumped into the trash shoot.
