~Graniteechoes, Year 2~
"What do you want me to do by myself? Fight the world?" ~Brwydro Yn Erbyn, militia commanderI thought he was on to something. Something as large as the world would surely get him some practice with his chainscythe. Some research into ancient texts on various combat masters yielded little, but as I was about to give up I stumbled across an ancient, eerie text entitled "The Shaft of Enlightenment". It detailed a small contraption that would grant a dwarf enough speed to quantum-phase
through obstacles and strike at the soul of the world itself; to literally spar with Armok. One was constructed to exact specifications and once Brwydro Yn Erbyn felt he was capable of using his chainscythe, he stepped onto the portal and a peasant pulled the activation lever. It was over so fast; Brwydro Yn Erbyn phased through the upright training spears and in the instant he was gone something must have gone well, for as he reawoke he walked over to the back of the Shaft and hacked at it with his chainscythe, turning the rough wall into a masterpiece work of art showing three dwarves; one holding a mace, one holding a sword, and Brwydro Yn Erbyn himself; in bloody combat with what could only be Armok hiimself.
Needless to say, as children grew and were inducted into the Gambol Shroud, they went down the Shaft as well.
Several artifacts were created in addition to Webgorged:
- Blushedfierce the Occult Wad, created by Ffoniwch Sial the Shale Ringbearer
- Shintreaty, by Derw Deyrnwialen the Monsoon Mercenary (it makes sense to me!!)
- Findersgalley, by Efail Esgyrn the Ravenfire
- Crossedshake the Den of Chucking, created by Trons, He Who Has Mastered Pants
(128 dwarves, popcap at 150. Nearly there!)
