Nothing. The necromancers who raised them to undeath want your population to join the ranks, and they hoped to use the zombie army to kill your dwarves.

That all? They going  to be disappointed.
For a second I thought this was some impromptu undead woodstock or something.
Up to 135 undead on the map now...

Wham! Another siege. Population down to 28, the whole fort is miasma, vomit, and ghosts. A child apparently threw itself into the chasm at the second bridge. Fell 23 z-levels down, straight into my mining installation. Child bits everywhere, the mother went berzerk and was put down by my vampire speardwarf via a *steel spear* to the heart.

God, I love this game.

How do I make them stop?

You know, I've never had to deal with three hundred zombies, but I think that flooding the map with magma generally helps in cases like this.

It up to 576 undead now...

Also some poor deluded Goblin Snatchers decided to show up.

The children will probably be better off in a goblin tower, where they will eventually rise to a respectable position, then in your undead-infested hellhole fort where they will grow up to become cannon fodder soldiers, get torn apart and spend the rest of their miserable existence shambling around moaning for braaaaaains.

Funny thing is that there are no children here.
Trying to get my dwarf to like each other enough to marry and have children because 7 dwarfs is far to few.
I also have no anvil, no wood, and no axe.
Undead up to 624 now.

1.5 year old embark, just purchased most of the human caravan with this one exceptional roast. It's 25% of my wealth. If it was masterful, it'd be worth 112320.
Is there a use for crafts? Roasts are less one-sided and much more valueable for the time put in.

What's the most valuable roast you've seen?

4 Swordsgoblins and 1 Swordsman from the goblin civ have arrived to terrorize my dwarfs.
I don't think they knew about the current undead siege going on here.
Pictured: 5 Sword users vs 654 undead and 3 Necromancers.

(Currently working on a plan to wipe the siege out but slow progress from FPS death.)

My Dwarves possess supernatural luck and prowess.

Silentthunders has this big quarry in the ground, continuous all the way. So the caverns require a bit of careful digging and evidently...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
...The large cave in that engulfed three Dwarves was testament to a few mistakes. One of the miners was thrown 3 zlvls into the air, another miner off a 2z lvl ledge and into a pillar and an off duty axedwarf constructing a wall.

0 casualties. Not even a single broken bone.

Proficient Axedwarf, bearer of mighty moustache.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

This is the crazy miner who started it all! 3z lvls high I tell ya!

It's ok, my skull cushioned my fall.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

These Dwarves all got baptized by boiling magma. What do I do with them?

The Goblins just started a siege against me, they even made some camp fires.
Then they got Zerg Rushed by the undead that were already besieging me.

Those brave, foolish, and blood thirsty goblins took out 275 undead of a total of 678 before being defeated.

In other news, project "Crush the Siege!" Is nearing completion.
