Just genned a new world to test out some new features in a new fort.  I used legends viewer to look at the world.  Bloodiest war was elves vs. exiled dragons.  Elves ~300 kills.  Exiled dragons 21000+.  And the elves destroyed almost all of the mountain homes.  Say what?

I would say they won with sheer numbers in the end.

It seemed they won after the exiled's champion (who had the most kills on the planet at 900 something, compared to the second places's 200 something-same civ) (also was a 100% worshiper of a diety) was killed by a jaguar.  Not a giant one, either.

I've seen bizzarer things. I once saw something like 800 kobolds go against 2000 elves. Remaining on each side: 800 elves, 300 kobolds. The Elves sued the spartan kobolds for peace.

Well, I have only gotten to autumn of the current year, and there is caravan chaos.

The elven caravan came through without a hitch (aka. seized all goods after they wouldn't give me what I wanted.)  The next caravan is where... it started

The dragon worshiper merchants came to my fort, soon followed by the human merchants.  The worshipers arrived at the depot first, then came the humans.  I was waiting for my broker to arrive at the depot, when I noticed the all out brawl between the two groups, which escalated when the human wagons arrived with their military forces.  The worshipers transformed into dragons at some point and the dead bodies began to stack up.  All the worshipers died and humans ran for the hills (must've been a dispute on who got to trade ).  They left everything behind, so I consider it a win.

That autumn, a mage caravan came, and unloaded their goods.  I had all intentions to trade with them.  Then came the kobold and one of my dragons breathed fire at it, taking out the bridge to the mainland as well (I built my fort across two of those peaks that are just higher than the surrounding area in mountain biomes, with the slopes destroyed leaving access only by bridges).  The fire spread, burning the mages to death along my trade depot, and many of the goods left behind.  Then another kobold came by, causing a dragon to burn the bridge between the islands.  In the depot are the only bars of metal in my fort, which are required by a dragon that has a fey mood.  I am now running low on water because it is the dry season, and I only have two units of beer in the fort (dragons don't need beer...except in these situations).

Between those two a fire burst launched at a kobold caught a dragon on fire, and caused it to run in circles on the mainland, but not burning the dragon itself due to the scales.

Yeah, I am having ALOT of !!fun!! around there.

My -modded- kobolds decided to give me a visit like they do every year. Springtime, when the elves come. Given my -un-healthy nature of mercy, I sent out my dwarves to save the elves. Not bothering to check how many kobolds were in the siege.


I'll just say, even with the elven bowmen giving me coverfire I was screwed.

Ok, you are seriously makig me wanna copy my human fortress raws over, and then get your modded kobolds. Just to try and hold my ground.

I think Corai may have made the ultimate in DF Defense-mode playing. Allegedly they always curbstomp everyone.

Only in worldgen, if I play with them in caves they just zergrush. Due to noone fighting back their sieges are GIANT. (Noone attacks caves)


In towns, they tend to conquer then get owned ingame. Because so many die worldgen only a few siege. (Every single civ attacks, they are hated more then goblins)

I sincerely believe him. He's got that fervent faith in kobolds, and everytime I've heard him speak of the Kobold Armies, they are a thing to be feared.

Started a new fort, Stakedlash. The hole point is to get a kobold siege and let everyone see my petty retaliation and slaughter. Only problem, elves actually fought off kobolds. So there may not be alot...



Plus RNG is flirting with me, no dangerous creatures on embark, no frozen river, plenty of wood.

God damn, everyone gets the nicest stuff. Once though, I got a fort with a exposed cliff face, covered in huge amonts of flux, coals of both types, and mountains of magnatite. It was wonderful. Probably would have been better had I realised the full extent of the treasure trove before year 5.

Well, I am going to try to build an above ground fort in an terrifying biome with a major amount of civilizations coming after me.

Mods- added the exiled dragons, gremlins replaced dwarves, satyrs replaced elves, all other humanoids
         besides kobolds replacing the goblins, kobolds trade with you, removed dwarves, elves, unicorns,
         and some other things, embark points are 3000 to get enough wood.

How bad am I off?
