Well the dwarves I've had can grasp that concept at least. Humans? Not so much....

So I set myself the challenge of building this fort almost completely aboveground and entirely out of wood. The problem is that I need so much more wood to continue expansion but there's no trees left anywhere and this is the first fort where the goddamned elves wont bring me any wood.

Welp, I figured the first death would be one of the old farts, but I was wrong. A kid drowned in one of the irrigation ditches, and I was laughing hysterically cause of how funny it was. He's still "Missing" so I think I'll leave his body there.

I'm finally learning to always ask for maximum priority (on everything I want) when negotiating trade agreements. Who cares about paying double for everything when
A) The trading caravan that arrives a year later brings steel bars instead of «-copper greaves-», and
B) I bought out the entire caravan with a single *«≡donkey leather waterskin≡»*?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I have undead owls on fire setting the mountainside glades alight. It's already decimated a beakwolf siege so I can say that I've already weaponised it.

A migrant wave. One particular migrant caught my eye, he had a giant sparrow bone crown and a giant bushtit nail bracelet. I gave him the nickname "King of Swag".

Just started the brand new fort of Muzishcatten "Martyredchannel" hoping to get some iron, my past few embarks have only had tetrahedrite and I'm tired of silver lol.  As soon as I embarked I did a prospect and saw that I had 20k garnierite, 13k native silver, and 71k magnetite on a 4x4 embark!  I ran a quick reveal and saw this.
This is the biggest amount of iron I've ever had, I think everyone is going to get iron cabinets, coffers, tables, chairs...  ;D

How are you for flux/fuel?  Also, could you snag the seed/site location by chance? :D

That's what cages and minecart shotguns are for!  We don't need to control them.  We just need to aim them.

That embark has no flux or fuel, but after checking again just north of that site I found 77k limestone and 3k lignite, you get knocked down to 31k magnetite but 10k limonite gets thrown in too (I guess making mineral scarcity lower then my normal really helped lol.)
After checking that for you I think I'll be moving north.  You can probably move around a little more in that area to find an even greater balance of iron/flux/fuel if you want :D
Spoiler: seed (click to show/hide)
Hope that works for you, if not just let me know.

I just realized the vampire is my Captain of the Gaurd on top of being mayor. How lucky she must feel to have been randomly selected from a pool of 90+ dwarves and can now determine herself innocent, on top of being elected mayor.

Do vampire CoG's not take witness accounts, or witnesses not report a crime to the CoG because they know that they're the vapire anyway? That would explain why I never got any witness testimony on murders that occured in the busiest part of the fortress.

Just started a new embark. Lost my last one to a goblin Lasher. Just the one but he got in through the bridge and proceeded to annihilate the citizenry.
