Boltssavage, 28th Galena
What a moment. We had another goblin siege just now, even though the last one was only in the 18th of Felsite. Now they brought a large party, along with a whole squad of war cave dragons. Only a year or two before, we had our first chance to truly test our new drowning-hall apparatus, which is rather ingenious, if I might add. A human diplomat came to admire it.
On a closer look...
The only snag that we had during the siege was that the human diplomat couldn't resist the urge to leave while the siege was still on. Promptly, he marched off to the drowning chamber, where he faced a few of those cave dragons, evading their attacks rather nicely. I pulled the lever. He survived the episode with only a sore sense of dignity, breathing not being necessary and all that. Seeing a goblin "general" drown was rather gratifying.
Now we just need to haul the rotting carcasses away from the retrieval chamber (below the actual drowning halls). I decided to punch a hole in the canyon wall to dump them in the river. See the cobaltite bridge.
Speaking of vampires, so is our beloved queen... Only a few months ago we found a cadaver, drained of blood, lying in his bedroom. Naturally I knew that it was the work of our monarch, but I decided to pin the blame on one of our captive goblin master thieves. The joke was appreciated by most of the citizens of the fort.
That furniture is all golden, save for the bed. And now our Mountainhome is truly complete. (Perhaps I'll have to start building another project?)
