Shockedtowns has been elevated to the status of a Count's Feifdom! These humans continue to impress me.

I'm constructing my first fort with Magma Plumbing! So far I've got the first 3 floors dug out, over 50 Alunite bridges placed, dozens of Alunite floodgates, and piping for most of the magma. When it's done, I will be able to selectively isolate and flood any part of the fortress, in any configuration I choose, simply by pulling the right levers. I'll also have 2 main panic levers - one to close every bridge in the fort, cutting off EVERYTHING, and one to open all floodgates, flooding every corner of my fort with magma at once.

The only thing I can't figure out is how to DRAIN the magma once I'm done with it...

I broke the tradition! I sent two Dwarves into the initial exposure chamber, and both were infected by the Were-civet, and escaped without dying! (Versus the normal 50% mortality rate)
One of the Dwarves is in a critical condition, and is close to dying from blood loss but should recover if the doctor on duty decides to help the Dwarf, whilst the other managed to beat down the were-civet and break many bones - without ever fighting before. That one got bit on the hand, and is pretty much guaranteed to survive. Now I've got 4 were-dwarves, and 1 were-human, and I still don't know what to do with them.

AFter nearly a year and a half of nothing but sporadic snatchers and kobolds, a siege!

Fully half of which has been slaughtered by 6 men at the cost of one dog. One troll got bisected and the bottom half of it flew up a z-level onto the hill 15 tiles in.

Ecen the Flayer has earned his name alright.

I have recently discovered the 'Sccotish Pirate Metal' band of Alestorm, and I'm planning on making a fort worthy of this song as it's theme:

Course I'll have to mod in rum somehow...

There's already dwarven rum. Close enough right?

2nd Siege of Shockedtowns was utterly crushed. So much so, I authorized people to resume normal activity despite the battle going on right over thier heads.

Also found out two of my best soldiers are in thier 80's. Not good.

About to start a new fortress.

Current fort has no water since I screwed up the aqeduct and have no river.
My defenses are scatterred all over the place and after almost 10 years, my military is decent at best.
Trap corridor is kinda weak as it has no flood capacity due to lack of working aqeduct.
May make a thread detailing the progress of this new fort...

Why's that? They can usually live 40 - 80 more years after that. :D

"Can" doesn't mean "will." And replacing them both will be a horrible pain in the ass.
