I've bypassed the aquifier using the cave-in method, and as soon as I start digging for areas like workplaces and beds I am striking an amazing amount of hematite. I guess once a weaponsmith, furnace operator, or armorer comes in a migrant wave I'll start forging steel/making more weapons of war.

same happened to me, I had a huge number of Weapon traps into my base, the whole mountain was made of it.

Pump magma to deal with all three, of course.

ok so a magma pool is between me and the adamantine, still, the king is a coming and i just started this accursed fortress of zombies, pray to Armok the clams* don't get him (no really about a hundred are above, got metal ores but haven't dug them up, need to kill them all)

*new menace next to the zombie cats

on a side note i've already built the bed room, looks like the kings staying *for our safety of course, the moment he gets annoying he gets the next trip to adamantine hell*

2. 10+ z-level drop, and enjoy them exploding into chunky mustard.

For extra dwarviness, put spikes at the bottom of the pit.
Make sure no dwarves are looting the corpses while throwing a goblin in or he might bounce off the dwarf below unharmed. Yes, that happened to me lol.
Also, goblins sometimes escape if their cage is too far from the pit and you moving them. Lost my mayor once that way.
What worked best for me was disarming them then moving the cage to the edge of the pit, and then chucking them in from there. While transporting goblins the militia is there just in case.
Then start making *goblin bone bolts* :)

That happened to me once. Fortunately, the dwarf he bounced off was an axelord stationed there to protect dwarves should the goblin fall on one.

A potter threw a tantrum and broke a child's leg by throwing a rock at him. The doctors quickly healed the child, even cleaning him with yak soap.
Now, the child somehow fully healed and he doesn't need a crutch anymore.

A dorf in my fort had a tantrum and threw the pile of booze he was hauling at the mayor!

"The mayor has been shot and killed" ... What he loved, brought him to his untimely demise.

Sabreheals is still being very, very slowly moved underground to the caverns. There has been no sightings outside the fortress.

Nothing.

Nothing but the infernal ash that drifts over.

No undead, no live. Just Sabreheals.

This is my proudest achievement. LFR + FD challenge+ FD bonus + FD vanilla. I have made it 4 years! I have survived goblins, nightwings, white tigermen, ferric elves, maybe six forgotten beasts, and of course the usual deep wolf gangs.

I set the outside world on fire twice, and built a magma-powered incinerator. Awesome. Sadly, I accidentally flooded it while trying to dig a moat. And failing, obviously. BUT THEN: I drained it and fixed it! I have a tree farm now.

Farming is working, I have a nice big population of sabre-toothed tigers and dogs, and I'm working on speckling the map with fortified pillboxes. Noice.

Traded about 100.000 dwarfbucks worth of crafts to the mounainhomes. In fact, I got the 100.000 worth of stuff, so I had to give them some profit... and I offered a gift.

The good news is, I don't have a crapton of crafts hanging around.

Jam a door with its corpse and let all the goblins in. Hey, nobody said it had to be a weapon against your enemies.

An ambush arrived. They were turned into pin cushions by my numerous hunters before the military were even up the entrance ramp.
