If your lower body rots, it'll be removed. "That's great urist! You don't need to use shoes anymore!"
Nausea inducing rain....Fort is covered with puke and pus. (From the blisters)

To get to the object being carried, I had to scroll through a ridiculously long list of animal bone jewelry, but not just any animal jewelry.

Elelphant bone jewelry.

Uvash Endoktost owns two hundred and ninety four objects, most of which are elephant bone jewelry pieces.
Checking her kill list reveals that little old Uvash killed two hundred and seventy nine elephants in "The Dune of Filling".
Oh, and one jaguar.

What the hell do I do with a dwarf bent on elephant genocide?

Weep that you're three versions too late to send her off to Boatmurdered.

A new fort on a tropical ocean beach, aquifer is worse than first anticipated.
First attempt at plug failed due to aquifer layout.
Second attempt at using pumps ran out of room due to aquifer layout and depth.

Operation *Corkskrew* will commence shortly.

Glad there are enough trees about and there's all the fish my dorfs can eat.

well one of my old soldiers turned up at one of my new forts. he instantly became militia commander, and trained some recruits.
But those recruits were torn apart by gaint birds. so hes now training some new archers :p

just about to have the first goblin battle, im posting it in the stories thread as " A sniper named gordon"

I wanted to make a death tower in the middle of a river, but the river wasnt big enough. So I've been working on draining the end of the river I want to use and carve out where I want my deathrape tower of destruction master your ass.

So far only several deaths and the river appears to be draining into my subterranean massive close-able sewer nicely

An undead siege comes - consisting of only one undead goblin corpse.

Figure i should be able to deal with this and not close the front gate i send my three marksdwarves in. (ps: none of them want to equip their quivers so no actual ranged combat occurs. I took 2 quivers at start but no matter if i disband and recreate they refuse to equip quivers - anyone know what else i can do?)

Anyway back to the massive one man siege. The three marksmen manage to kill the goblin, with one of them dying. I was a bit sad but heck, at least the siege is broken. Well apparently no, the dead dwarf becomes undead, and the goblin pieces (about 10 of em) all reanimate, and now i got 11 attackers. Recruit everyone and just barely survive, but the fort is gone. In fact thats the 9th fort on this map that's failed due to undead (2 tower civs on map), about bloody time to start a new map.

btw - whats best practice for killing undead without losing your entire fort?

Recruit the dwarf and seal him in a room for a year.

If he starves to death, he was innocent.

Haha brilliant. Every migrant should take this test as an initiation.

Operation *Corkskrew* will commence shortly.

That took bloody ages ( and four drowned "below working age" dwarfs :( )

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

...Next layer!

PS: My Dwarfs are popping them out fast! Got 15 children & babies and more every few mins!

Just had my first tantrum (first ever, I think.) The tantrumee/tantrumnator/tanturminator/tantric/tantrumist lost his eldest sibling, witnessed his first death and was grumbling about patrol duty all at the same time. He started a bout of fisticuffs with a co-militia-member (who did not seem to mind enough to get unhappy) and then calmed down. Aiite.

I had a kobold thief arrive in the summer of the first year of Odgubkolad. Luckily, my armored mastiffs chased him off pretty quickly.

My favourite psycho dwarf Crafttempt (whose hobbies included biting hostile animals) was slain off-screen by a frigging vampire. I was very very very close to savescumming, but decided to show some integrity and grit.

At least I've got my own back - I now have one pissed off undead creature 'exploring' the under caverns.
