And now my fort is flooding because of a badly-placed floodgate. I was looking at the design and thinking "this is going to flood the entire fortress". I was correct.

Fortunatly the water only got to the main stairway, wich goes all the way to the 2º caverns. Im sure gratefull that I placed fortifications on the top level of the cavern-tunnel instead of walls, now I migth actualy save this. I just need to drain the river, shouldent be too hard... Oh, and my only miner just drowned himself, good job.

/EDIT/: You've got to be kiding me...

Restricted the entrance to the cistern because my best soldier just drowned himself trying to get to the Pump across it  >:(
A plus from all this is my fisherdwarfs dont have to walk all the way over to the river to fish now...

I just got a message saying 'Cetha Cethutha Cetha, Forgotten Beast is no longer enraged.' I never got an enrage message, not only that, but I haven't opened the caverns either...

Into second year, no sieges / attacks but a Hill Titan! It wailed on my lowly and poorly equipped melee squad but there were no casualties.

Then ; "The world has passed into The Age Of Geb Fathercall."

... Whut?

[EDIT]

The Hunting Dog shakes the Cyclops around by the head!
The Hunting Dog shakes the Cyclops around by the head!
The Hunting Dog shakes the Cyclops around by the head!
The Hunting Dog shakes the Cyclops around by the head!
Ad infinitum...

That Dog is singlehandedly taking on an announced Cyclops - Golden Coffin for that Pooch!

[EDIT2]

Lol!, the whole fort is chilling while a lone Hunting Dog is outside shaking a Cyclops aroudn by the head like a squeak-toy... forever.
Got 40-odd pages of shaking by the head and the cyclops is still going - just bruising the fat but its slipping in and out of conciousness.

That usually means the FB encountered some animal folk in the cave and one of 'em is giving it the good fight. If the animal person wins, you'll get a memo about a "weapondwarf" who's not on your units list getting a promotion, that's the nameless animal person getting named in honor of their victory.

Clearing out a large section (45x45) of stone above my bedrooms ... I'm not sure why yet, maybe a goblin zoo... hm, figure it out when it's done I suppose.

Meanwhile, the elves showed up, traded them some stone and copper trinkets for a fair bit of booze and cloth, and a giant Tiger (tame, fem) they happened to have with them, hope they bring a male sometime in the future, would be nice to have an ambush of Giant tigers prowling the fortress, a few chained at the gates for some big feline defenders...

Ya know, every time I think the elves couldn't possibly be more useless, they bring me some remarkably interesting new pet and buy themselves a couple more years out of axe range of my military. I think they know those creatures are only reason I keep them around.

> Loud Whispers: Everything in DF goes wrong from the moment you press embark.

The alligator Etostèrith (Containedlabors) killed 4 dwarves of The
Livid Merchant expedition and injured (pale) the mason immediately
upon embark, while crossing a 4-wide river to first cut trees and dig
out the initial fortress entrance.  After the initial woodworker's
death, the remaining six organized the squad “The Clasps of Crying” to
extract revenge, and so they wouldn’t get whittled down one by one.
The miner and expedition leader dispatched the alligator, leaving only
him and my woodcutter uninjured to strike the earth and bury their
fallen comrades.  The miserable miner, however, couldn’t take it,
throwing tantrums, going insane, and finally going berserk.  She
killed a horse, killed the injured stoneworker (lopping off the left
foot with her copper pick), chased around the entire embark area in
the rain after groundhogs.  Finally she interrupted the woodcutter
(now expedition leader and set to mining), and chased him stray cats,
and groundhogs around, before finally dying of thirst, and the
groundhogs apparently ate away her upper body in revenge (saw them
scatter just after she died). Finally tally to last until traders and
migrants arrive at “Boatsguarded”: one sleeping dwarf, two cats, a yak
bull, and the wagon.

A merchant's donkey just went beserk and caved in one of my plant gatherer's ribs. A brave axeman dispatched the donkey with a single blow to the lower body after being knocked around for a minute or so.
The plant gatherer, Dothan Zegaanu, is in a critical condition with a broken liver and left lung. He is not expected to live out the week.

C/P'd Whisperbolt and abandoned so I could check out Legends.

Uspexuz, "Godlyclash" was an amphibian man born in 93 to unnamed parents.

In 102, he threw the forgotten beast Om the Mucks of Puke to its death in Whisperbolt. (that's pretty badass for a nine-year-old!)

In 104 he was slain by Vetek Lakegrowl, a forgotten beast with noxious secretions who also wiped out the rest of the amphibian folk settlement there.

ETA: Meanwhile in still-active Whisperbolt, walling in pastures is underway. Vetek Lakegrowl is chilling in the subterranean lake the dorfs use for a water supply, making me wonder what fun! will ensue when someone goes for a drink from FB-tainted water.

Why are my legendary shield users so damn easy to hit and kill!? You'd think that skill with their shield would prompt them to block something and not die!

On one of my older forts I had my legendary leader Iteb pass out from exhaustion and hop right back up again. :P

As for Limulunnos, our steel industry is so efficient that even with the forge working full time the two smelters are overflowing. :P
