In order to improve the universe's frame rate, we must all throw rocks into volcanoes and then do absolutely nothing, worldwide, for a week, to take pressure off pathfinding.
or maybe throw them into the large hadron collider to atom-smash them instead.
Not to mention to throw all available animals into tiny pits.

a hill giant showed up, made of snow that apparently had a poison sting...

when i first saw it i was like "oh crap a hill giant thats poisonous..." then i saw it was made of snow...a novice sword dwarf poked it and it died, now its snow is on the ground near my old pasture

speaking of pastures, i've had to move my farm animals like 3 times for god sakes!

also, i have no idea why, but it looks like that novice sword dwarf is dual wielding steel shortswords and a shield...

I'm going to build a warship.

EDIT: Should I make it out of steel or clear glass?

Both!

I managed, somehow, to secure Doorblew's magma forge area and not have every die (although I sacrificed one miner to try, unsuccessfully, to plug the offending hole. Also another miner died early on of base stupidity.)

Some guys were trapped in an upper storage level, and just as the water was nearing 7/7 a miner cracked open an escape hatch before they drowned. It was excellent.

I've been totally ignoring the rest of the fort in the several months I've spent trying to leak the water back out. Then I remember about edge of map carved fortifications, and most of my problems were solved. Now I've just got to plug the damned leak.

I got tired of my military squad that was constantly socilizing, marrying each other, and then going on mini rampages when one of them died, so i sent them all against an enemy that really should have been able to wipe them out.....  they killed the entire siege of 40 goblins, verus 8 of them, but one of them died.  On they way back to the fort they all went beserk and killed each other. Very interesting.

Desert titan.

It just bit off the hands of half my military, leaving them bleeding out in the sand. While this is frustrating, I am amazed at its aim. Seriously, this thing is dedicated to biting off hands, and only hands.

Started a new fort to test out the latest version.. Am really fascinated now by the options for beekeeping.. and eggs from birds..

Hypothetically, if the birds in question are brooding over the nestbox, will they hatch?

If there is a male and female of the species, yes. Otherwise the females will lay the eggs and sit on 'em til the end of time.

So I just started my new fort, Idenbisek, "Paddleveiled". The intention is to support a strong military through breeding turkeys and dogs.

I seem to have made a very poor choice of embark site, though. The whole place is mostly sand and cliffs. My dwarfs have decided to park the wagon at the bottom of the cliffs. The area at the bottom of said cliff has a very small amount of level ground, and the edge of a frozen lake.

So where have they put the wagon? Yup. Smack bang in the middle of the ice.

I have to move everything I have off the ice before it thaws. I suspect this is going to go badly!

EDIT: Oh hey, it defrosted ten seconds after unpausing...

I was sieged and unprepared.
Those demons never showed a single shred of mercy or decency.
I had to abandon my fort..
