Then again, I'm dabbling with a side mod that lets mermaids siege me, and I can capture them and milk them like common cattle.  So, you know, whatever!

This dude is milking mermaids? Where does the milk come out?

Dwarves are to Purring Maggots what ants are to aphids. In both cases, the milk comes out the arse.

You don't know that! Since the purring maggot is (at least used to be) destroyed, I like to think they just sort of squish it.

Maybe it's both. They stimulate glands on the maggot's, er, rear end, causing the "milk" to secrete out. But, you know, I can't imagine a dwarf would be very careful with what's essentially a massive maggot, so probably they go squish.

Human liaison: Pray tell, master dwarf - what is this, precisely? It tastes wonderful.
Urist McMayor: Arrrh, that? Dwarv'n milk, lad.
Human liaison: What animal is it milked from?
Urist McMayor: Why, purrin' maggots, 'course! Th' squished org'ns an' other bodily contents add tha' nice yeasty flavour.
Human liaison: ...*Pushes []rock salt mug[] away.* So about that trade agreement...

on a side note, whilst looking over the (genesis mod) extracts list in my stockpile options, I noted the types of milk. Specifically: Unicorn milk.
This is awesome, why is this not in vanilla? (I checked)

Do not search mermaid milk on Google Images. It does not end well.

"She" you'll notice the GIRLinhat there...

I just added [MILKABLE] and I heard that you can't milk intelligent creatures, so I snipped out [CAN_LEARN] and [CAN_SPEAK] for good measure.  I haven't tested this yet.
