Ctrl+r to record your keypresses, ctrl+s to save (make sure to stop recording first), ctrl+P to play, ctrl+l(I think) to load other macros you've created.

So after restarting four times and drafting a recently-arrived administrator with decent stats, as well as pitting all my captive goblins/anubites to death, I managed to survive spring. I think having captives from enemy races increases the size/frequency of ambushes.

In my current DF world, one of my dwarf's main deities, one of gems and metals, is depicted as a naked mole rat. In a previous world, a monarch butterfly was the deity of destruction and lies.

Nah, I like watching them explode on contact with the ground. And some of them even survive the fall, so I have to station my military down there to take care of the hardy ones.

I'm in the middle of my first feat of Dwarftastic engineering! It's a waterfall for my dining room! And it's a massive failure. First of all, there's no main shut-off valve and I won't be able to build one until the water freezes in winter, so anything that gets stuck down there stays stuck for now. Second, it's leaky. Shaddap, this is my first waterfall. And third, the waterfall actually ended up killing someone, even though the dwarf who died wasn't exactly the brightest in the first place. Basically, he slipped and fell on his head. Yay.

Oh, and also earlier in the same game: I designate a rubbish stockpile outside the main entrance because there are corpses in the fort stinking up the joint. My dorfs, being dorfs, naturally go into the nearby cave complex to then generate content for this new stockpile by killing its inhabitants and dragging their corpses back. Okay, not really. There were just a few already-dead corpses in there, but the dwarves, upon entering, killed more stuff to start a vicious cycle until I got rid of the stockpile. Not a single injury ensued, mind you. And then I got Urist McSlipandbonkhishead. And he even had "Urist" in his last name too. Guess I shoulda known?

Hello cavern residents. You may not know or understand this, but there is a dwarven city located a few z-levels above you. We were hesitant at first to make our presence known, but in the state we are now I doubt any of you would be able to do much to stop us. We don't really have any business in your territory except mining, so we will not stay long. We must find magma.

Multiple goblin ambushes. Goblins turned on their non-goblin counterparts. Non-goblin counterparts died. Swordsgoblin squad hit the cage traps. The rest stayed back. Human caravan arrived, killed that one axgoblin that had been camping on the south corner of the map. The rest of the goblins backed off. Map is goblin-free for the first time in a while. I gave the humans some moderately expensive magnetite trinkets(plenty of it on the map, so why not?) in appreciation, since it cost their swordsman a leg.

A few buzzards started irritating people, so our marksdwarves opened fire with a storm of bolts. I was a bit worried that some of them might hit someone as they fell, but they didn't. Managed to shoot one of them down, too.

One of my dwarves made an artifact mechanism. It's the centerpiece of my weapontrap execution pit (I've got all these goblins from the ambushes...so, y' know, have some fun with 'em). That's a pretty dorfy thing to do, right?

What's it made of? If it's magma-safe, I smell a future noble lever.
