Shut down Crabquakes in a fit of pique after a few unforbidden food stacks from the humans triggered a full-on Retard Rush OF THE ENTIRE FORT towards the scant five remaining invaders.  Also nurturing doubts as to whether or not the magma is even reachable.

Genned a new world.  Have an embark that's perfectly divided into joyous/savage/terrifying and has plenty of trees, sand, granite, and marble.  And maybe a bit of aquifer.  Will probably quit in disgust if it doesn't...  I've gotten too used to the free water/masochism tango with aquifers.  >_>

After finally establishing a fort which lasts over 2 years of so, I have all the facilities to self-sustain it. Just finish building the elaborate throne room and bedding, adorned with marvelous statues and chests of gold, and begin training up a military. I manage to get 3  dwarfs enrolled to be macemen when I get 'Ambushed'

Ten minutes later, 55 dwarfs later, the fort is no longer.
This time I'm building a flooding chamber :)

A... Snail?!

That's it? A bolt bruising brain, and it's over?

Now, what to do with shells I'll probably get from it?
I guess, I'll save them all for moods, for 'It is menaces with spikes of forgotten beast shell.'.

I'm finishing my aboveground barracks and moving industry closer to the firts cavern. At least it's safe now. But it has onlu 23 giant cave spider silk. :/ My last fort had 150... Lost save due to computer crash.
And I NEED MAGMA. I almost ran out of coal.

I think GCSs now migrate on/off the cavern map like other wildlife...

Also OH GOD WEREWOLVES >:[

As soon as the embark loaded, one spawned and my expedition leader spent most of the spring bleeding gently on a hillside.  He's now a permanent invalid.

7 goblins ambushed.  6 of them were bowmen.  Argh.  AND I forgot to put one of the doors on the exterior entrance.   @$#!

Fortunately I managed to shut some interior doors, limiting losses to 3 war dogs (chained up to watch for kobolds...  poor things didn't even get close), 6 puppies, someone's pet dog, and an unlucky mason.  Three injuries when my untrained, poorly armed militia rushed in after some emergency axes and breastplates were made in the forges.

One dwarf got whacked in the leg with an iron bow (broken), but took one look at my hospital, said "FUCK that!" and apparently just walked it off.  The other two, both farmers, oddly, ended with cuts on their right upper legs - I didn't have time to give them greaves or leggings before sending them out.  One of them apparently has FPS-style regenerating health, which I wouldn't doubt for two reasons: first, the red wound on his leg healed to yellow and he walked out of the hospital before my doc could sew him up.  Second, to quote his profile, "His left cheek bears a massive curving scar."  He probably got that from the same fight, which is awesome.  The second guy waited till he got sewed up and has some dressing on his leg, then went right back to work.

My broker butchered 4 of the 7 goblins, though, so now he's called "The Brutal Secret...  of sparkles."

Yeah, I don't get it either.

Q: What do you get when you take 100 clear glass windows, 1000 silver bars, 6700 gold bars, and 18,000 marble blocks?

A: A very large wall.

Thank you, I was unable to replicate that exact world, presumably due to my unwillingness to do the same modding you've done, but it looks like interesting world nonetheless, & I'll see if I can find a similar embark somewhere.

Left the fort running overnight, and got up this morning to see that a FB had snuck into my in-progress magma pump stack, gotten attacked by a pack of war dogs, and then was hacked to pieces by the steel picks and steel battleaxes of miners and woodcutters that were on hauling duty. :)

The magma is elusive, and my military is too stupid to live.

Last I checked them, my new worthless moochers meatshields were happily sparring with their nice *silver maces* and everyone, even civilians, are toting around their shields and wearing their chainmail, but sometime between the combat drilling and the kill order on Were #4, the active-duty macedwarf decided it would be a good idea to disarm.  Guessing he dropped it to haul food.  Anyrate, he's been eviscerated so I'm down to an axedwarf and a whipless lasher.  Good thing the moat's almost done.

I'm watching as my dwarves run back and forth across a 22-tile wide river, that's frozen over. One day, that river will unfreeze, and they'll be having a party on it, and they'll all die.

C'mon bridge, Build faster!!!

Edit: Whew, nobody fell in, and no one is stuck on the wrong side. Lawl, three camels are drowning, though.

I've completely underestimated the stupidity of my dwarves yet again. Firstly, I assumed that forbidding a freshly caged goblin or cobald would lead to the dwarves going back inside. Wrong. In fact, my militia commander, who was behind a wall where she couldn't possibly have seen anything and whom is also activated and stationed, and not collecting equipment, decided to run straight into them right as the gates were about to be closed. She got in a fight with an axeman and bled to death.

Second, I ordered a lever to be pulled to close a bridge while the elven merchants that hadn't traded yet were still on my side, so i could at least kill them and get their stuff. What does the game do? Selects the one person who's farthest from said lever. By the time it was pulled, not only were the merchants angry and leaving, they were halfway across the bridge. All their crap was flung into the water! there was a giant desert scorpion in there! does this game TRY to make me angry?

A wave of migrants arrived, most of which were converted to haulers/wallsmoothers.

Captured a rhesus macaque and a wolf, hoping to someday get a Dungeon Master to tame them for me.

Had a hauler go moody, claim a jeweler's shop, and is now demanding "rough.... color....". Currently waiting for my lazy-ass miners to find some gems for him.

The glassmaking industry has started with 1 dwarf whom I nicknamed "Glassy."

The new bedroom area is currently being smoothed by my haulers, and I'm waiting for them to engrave the new dining hall as well.

No invasions, nothing really of interest. Hoping for some fun soon, else I'll have to make my own.
