Usil Regngotun already had 6 children and decided the best place to have her seventh would be on top of my construction site. She ran a few meters away, just enough time for the other masons to neatly wall it in. The first thing I saw was a purple death message and a exploded baby 40 z-levels down, where I intend to cast the bottom hull plate of my dwarfcube. Well, I inadvertently babtized my megaconstruction with babyblood, just before I wanted to turn on the pumps - I hope it brings luck.  :)

P.S. The mother is still ecstatic

oops magma flood

This is why (if I ever use a central staircase design again) I will place lever-linked hatches over every staircase on every level, and place lever-controlled floodgates at every exit and in several places in any major traffic areas.

I think I've caught some deer, but they are under Ice in cages.

I need to lower a platform into my cavern magma pool, the 3 FBs running around means I have no chance of reclaiming the part I foolishly opened.

Edit: Cages protect from Ice, also they were 2 male deer. *sigh* and a fox. my dwarves are not reloading Cage traps either. Found out that it was covered in ice.

HOLY CARP. BREEDING PAIR OF WOLVES.

yesssssss.

Something extremely wierd just happened. For some unknown reason my woodcutter just up and bled to death, I have no idea what happened, I can't seem to reproduce it though, but at least I can go back to the beginning save.

Fourth forgotten beast, one of my wolves was washed to the gods know where.

My dwarves pulled the wolf out the secret dimension they stored her in. this fort has some seeeeerious bugs going on. phantom black squares of oblivion, etc.

Ok, I had enough of her! My legendary Engraver kicked the bucket because of her!

I ordered Duchess Goden McI_put_a_ban_on_motherf***ing_BINS to inspect the progress of the casting of the foundation plate personally. Imagine me watching through the clear glass portal on the right and showing her the finger.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

At least my high pressure magma pipe is working exceptionally well. That magma at the bottom of the shot is in a reservoir measured precisely for the amount necessary to cast one ring of hull, but for the base plate, I have to guess and hurry a dwarf to the shut off lever at the right moment.

The Pressure release system I built into my river system works wonderfully, allowing the water to recede to the banks of the river. unfortunately this worked far too well. I failed to estimate the effects of a full recession in that third layer of ice, I can no longer do any exterior work this year, as that would be going above the surface, voiding my challenge.

Have any Forgotten Beasts turned up? They can spray/ooze various nasty substances which do stuff like that.

I recently embarked on a volcano with a river beside it with plenty of trees to go around. I'm trying to use magma for the first time and it's making me kinda paranoid...

I also found out that I have elephants and giant eagles here too... yeeeeeessss!

The goal of this fort is to build everything on one z-level, but also have a Pit-of-Doom with a labyrinth at the bottom with a pack of wolfmen living in it.

Now building the fifth level of my above-ground, green-glass, no-stone-allowed fort, which has already survived two tantrum spirals. Finally, my dorfs will have individual rooms! Now I just have to figure out how to set up the pump stacks for the upper well and the fountain I intend to put in the statue garden, and finish sorting my dogs for the purpose of breeding gigantic, muscular war dogs to guard my entrance bridges. Good thing there are no goblins in this world.

Was there any modding involved?

Protect them until adulthood, create a music group with them. The yougest one should eventually get a zoo and a attraction park.
