You can't make anything out of slade. You can't even mine it.

Yeah, I was fairly sure of that. I haven't encountered the Funhouse/clowns in this version yet, so I didn't want to say anything with certainty. Post corrected. Anywho, time to guess who's getting jailed for this.

Either you're going to end up with bone armor and obsidian (or whatever) short swords...or you're going to have to send out a sacrificial dwarf who must be cast out for going above the waterline.

Repelled my first siege, no casualties.

Goblins had mithril armor.  Stupid Underdark mod...

Anyone in here know how to get your military to drop their old, shitty weapons after they pick up their new, shiny weapons?

My champion that has only one lung since the second year just soloed two squads of hammergoblins including some archers. I will give this guy a bigger tomb than the queen with some platinum statues. These were his kills #28 through #44.

I embarked on a volcano in a sandy swamp to learn how to use the glass industry.  2x2 site with an active volcano, a dead spire next to it for my main fortress, an eroded spire that I'll flatten for minerals, and enough swamp that logs aren't a problem.  Once the eroded spire is gone I'm going to build a green-glass Aztec pyramid in its place, and then my dwarves can look out their green-glass windows in the fortress spire and watch prisoners being dropped to their doom.

The main threat so far is grimelings, which need axes to kill.  And the stupid outpost liaison is a marksdwarf, so instead of running from the grimelings he tries to kill them with bolts, then gets beaten to a pulp.  Also, I have no sedimentary layer and haven't found flux or tin yet, so I'm going to be using copper and iron for a while...

Things have been going well for Anvilhand. After dealing with an annoyingly large migrant wave that boosted my population from 14 to 36, I got to work sealing off my fortress from the outside world. I'm digging out a huge tree farm underground so I never have to make my dwarves exit the fort again. That's part of how my last fort fell. While it was mainly due to the flying vomit, I did lose a few dwarves who were gathering wood outside during the ambush.

I was also confused when I kept getting messages about naked mole dogs stealing prepared cave kraken. I didn't understand how they were getting into my fort until I realized they were stealing this from the nearby bat man tribe. Apparently it informs you of animal tribes items being stolen, which seems like a bug. Another bug is that the animal tribes don't care when naked mole dogs run right up to them, steal their food, and then run off into the darkness.

You could cast one with a smelter mod.

We finally made it out of that dreaded famine. Dian didn't ever go starving either. Luckily. She's been in a coma since the first summer I believe.

But life without an anvil is like surrendering to the elves' wicked ways.
