I once managed to improve my framerate by opening HFS. I'll leave how that worked to the imagination.

I had to abondon my Laboredlash fort. Apathy for it and trying to catch up the blog too late are to blame. This post explains everything in detail.

I WILL have a DF fort blog up! so the blog post for details on that as well!

Had a massive pile-up of demons from a bug triggering it unintentionally, then breached and killed all the demons thus lightening your pathfinding load?

Please spoiler any mention of demons either in the usual spoiler, or in spoiler-type text (what I did)

I just had a megaproject idea.
Breaching the cotton plug  ;D and making and eternal cave-in-maker.

Well my fort DeathWorked(good name considering...) has been set up completely. Had one mining related death due to a cave-in. 5 dwarfs died due to a really bad infection that spread quickly. They where sealed off in the hospital till they died. Made a new hospital so I don't have to worry about the bodies exposing other dwarfs to that nasty thing. And the last bit of excitement came from many ambushes happening at once. First was kolbolds, they killed my guard dogs quickly but the floodgates cut off their entrance to my fort. Just after that a gabbo ambush appeared and started fighting the kolbolds. That happened 3 more times but in the end I got lots of metal to melt and not one dwarf was hurt at all. Now I am trying to get a breeding pair of elephants or black bears from the elfs. I got one of each.

I'm about to attempt to do the unattemptable. Well its been done, but not by me :D
Que 7 years of ingame work later.
Corridor full of 3 legendary+5 with masterwork ballista's and each with around 20 masterwork steel arrows.
Also in said corridor are 17 weapon traps contain masterwork steel discs, some juicy bluemetal masterwork discs.
Needless to say I'm going to collonize HFS.
Will let you know how this goes :S

Just gobbled up two Gobbo ambushes. Losses on my side, a very decent human spearman and two marksdwarves (and a donkey). Losses on theirs; 10 Goblins, of which 8 had crossbows. (Which means I get better crossbows than I had before.) The dead donkey was carrying a flail and a halberd. :D

Yep. Also, make sure the ceiling is right above them, or you'll have much fun dealing with the flying ones that will simply avoid the spikes.

I don't mean to alarm you, but it appears that your Dwarves are all in fact elephants.

Move them, place them in anti-ambush weapon traps. Create gore fest there. :D

My new fort will be very lucky!

Why?

I embarked in a volcano as usual, get "A section of cavern has collapsed!" warning as usual, and then...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The volcano ended just near a vein of it, so...

Quick grab the pick and DIG!!!

Also... I continue getting the collapsing cavern warning every 5 second or so... what it means?

There is floating mud in your caverns. Trees are growing on it. But because trees are too heavy to float on air, they fall, causing a cave-in.
