I'm turning my currently running fort into a succession fortress; http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=68653.0 by suggestion of Max White and others in the Giant Dungeon thread.

I just lost a 20+ dorf migrant wave to the goblins. Nothing could be done about it though...

Now I'm just finishing up all my work and placing copious amounts of notes around the fort in the hopes that it will help anyone else that plays navigate.
Maybe they won't be militarily incompetent.

You see, here's how I think this works:
Overseer: Welcome to the military! You need to wear socks! Dorf: Oh, I should get military socks. My socks are civilian socks. Dorf discards socks Dorf: You know, I need a whole lot of gear now. I should get socks... last. Oh, but these steel boots with the white goo on them are nice!

I'm bored. So I'm starting work on a magma-meteor-defense-system-based fort.

While I'm at it, I'm going to make an obsidian magma submarine.

You kidding? Needs to be an orthoclase submarine.

An obsidian one could be launched and be somewhat intact before it hit the SMR. An orthoclase one couldn't.

Has anyone actually managed to do that yet? (or even sitting on the smr/above it using hax?)

Not that I know of...

Well I tried... I guess it's time for take 2!

I need a world with a gazillion vulcanos. hmmm...
Ps. Although I'm not sure how to drop it later on in a way that won't kill everyone... Last time I tested the IDEA with a room and some useless cheese makers volunteers they died as soon as I released the supports above the room. Not even mentioning the miners who decided it's a good idea to mine a channel right underneath them while being above a giant sea of magma. Surface to say I don't have legendary miners no more...

I once flung a migrant off a bridge. He collided with the brook cliff and died.
A year later, my legendary engraver engraved him colliding with an obstacle and dying.

Theres a bridge too.

Carpe Diem.
Seize the dwarves.
Well. . .
I've got a river full of carp. There's a whole page of 'em.
Should I be concerned?

Is there water in said river?
Could it be removed?
Could it be heated?

The water SHOULD freeze in winter, but I'm not sure.
I don't have access to the magma sea, so 3 is a no.
I've added [LIKES_FIGHTING] to them beforehand.

To what?
Carp are aquatic, so they can't drown. They can only airdrown.
I suppose I shouldn't worry, seeing as I am well away from the river.
My well taps into said river, though.
