Magma mist is only created by cave-ins.

I don't really know what to think of this, but I draw two immediate conclusions.

One, my military is apparantly sadistic as fuck. They aren't even using their swords, for some reason.

Two, goblins are bloody durable. Every single limb is broken and smashed open, and I'm sure there is some pretty severe internal bleeding there, given the heavy organ damage, and the damn thing just wont die.

(OH GOD THE JPEG RAPE)

EDIT: Damn thing still wont die. both lungs, kidneys, liver and spleen are now red.

Edit2: Finally gave up the ghost. Jesus christ, I don't think there were any undamaged parts.

Trying out a new fort in 0.31.13
 Zonmatul, "Helmsdance"
It is a warm unaligned area with a volcano, brook, sand, and plenty of game. According to the embark screen, no aquifer and layers of soil and white, grey, and dark grey stone.

First migrant wave arrives with a message of "Some migrants have decided to brave this terrifying place, knowing it may be their tomb." (I have never noticed this message before, just "some migrants have arrived")

Population has jumped to 16 and now includes:
a legendary spear dwarf
2 legendary mace dwarfs
a skilled blowgunner
a master thief who is adapt at knife use and ambushing.

Equip your army in steel and place them in a clear glass barracks behind immediately above the powered magma-flood trap.

I have discovered a problem with this fort. 'tis in 0.31.13. which mean painful orgnaisation of dwarves, no quick coal/iron ore mining or anything along those lines. so glad i made a backup right at the start

I modded in a couple of metals and a couple of new weapons.

THIEVES BEWARE, FOR I HAVE THERITE SLEDGEHAMMERS, PHERITE MACHETES AND MYTHRYL RIFLES. (Yes, I'm vein enough to name metals after myself.)

Starting a new world with all this, and I realize that creating a super-light metal from a super-dense ore = lots of metal.

So I now have a lot of light, brittle metal bars that can hold an edge pretty well. I'm turning most of it into decoration on barrels and such, except for the bits I'm using to train my weapon/armorsmith.

I'm expecting a goblin siege any day now, since I accidentally put an extra 0 at the end of the value tag on said light, brittle metal.... So my fort's in second year and worth 15 million dwarfbux.

TL'DR: Being new to modding will create a lot of fun.

Thermite shall come later, after I find a way to add grenade launchers.

I can't believe it, yet again my farmer died due to a fishing accident! Atleast he had a 23 page fight with a Sea Lamprey to commemorate his death

Give cats natural metallic armor and throw them in your danger room.  Also allow their mouth and tail to grasp (shield in mouth, weapon in tail xD)  Have a cat based military.  You know, do the same with all tame animals xD send in the cats as shock troops to disrupt the archers

Many. MANY.

Like, I can put in 1 operation for making these types of bars, and my smelter will go from uncluttered to *CLT*.

How did you do that? And doesn't it make it kind of easy?
