One of my caged FBs has an interesting syndrome which causes targets to become drowsy and eventually fall unconscious, so I set up a pair of holding cells with fortifications between them. One cell is filled with cage traps and is intended to hold the webber, while the other is just a normal cell for the syndrome FB.
So when you put them together, you've got Shelob.

You joke, but may main web producer is a gigantic one-eyed spider with a poisonous bite called "Lushob Echoreigned the Deferent". I don't know what its venom does, and it's not quite called Shelob, but it's not far off.

I just want to say whatever there is in your fort, and however awesome it is, there is absolutely nothing that can't be improved by submerging it in magma.

What's wrong?

I have 5 splints and 5 crutches. According to the hospital info page, they are all stored in the hospital. Physically, they are at the Carpenter's Workshop, with TSK on them all. In the job list, I have a whole segment of "Store Item in Hospital" tasks but they are all inactive.

Most "store item in container/location" jobs are lower priority than other hauling jobs, so if there are no burrow limitations, it might be that the jobs to store the items in the hospital container are not being done because your dwarfs are all busy with some construction project or other hauling jobs.

You should be able to set the hospital zone's crutch and splint supplies to 0 and do a quick forbid and unforbid on the crutches and splints. This should remove the TSK flag from the items and prevent new ones from being created. Then worry about increasing the supply settings after the dwarfs hobble out of the hospital.

People got their risk assessment neurons rotten and replaced with game theory. Folks walk around like fat turkeys taunting the world to slaughter them.

Ah, so my two doctor dwarves will not get the splint and crutch themselves. I get it. I have many irons in the fire, so I'll just stop everything else as much as I can and wait. Thanks.

EDIT: yeah that did the trick. Once enough time had passed and there were no more pressing jobs, the splints and crutches were moved to the hospital.

At CraftRiddle there are so many crimes and justice being handed out that I had to add three more cages to the jail area.

It is becoming VERY weird in the island society.

It was not unusual for animals to be tried in european society....  Its a very egalitarian view on justice.

Apparently they don't like it when you convict an animal of a crime.

https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/DF2014:Thought#Justice

after an animal was convicted of a crime   When you pin a crime on an animal...
after a long-dead corpse was convicted of a crime   ...or a corpse...
after the bizarre conviction against all reason of the victim of a crime   ... or the victim--for example, convicting a blood-drained dwarf of draining his own blood

All these cause a negative emotion.  I don't know why you would see this unless for some reason you convicted an animal of a crime in the Justice menu, whether accidentally or on purpose.  I have been known to clear my unsolved crimes by blaming them on someone long dead.

Things are going well in my personal fort. A cook threw a tantrum and tried to hit her baby, the baby dodged and punched her mother's arm so hard the bone was smashed
