cats have been mysteriously dying off as of this fort. I had a cat die off and kitten die off for no reason. I couldn't see anything in the combat logs either. Also had a crash involved when I tried to retire my tavern. I think the bug's already in mantis by now.

Alcohol Poisoning has claimed another victim. Another fishery worker drowned in her own vomit today. I think I see a connection between fishery workers and overdrinking. So far the tavern keeper has been the most lethal member of my fort, claiming two dwarven lives. I petition to name tavern keeper as the new king of beasts.

I was attacked by a wereass, it took out a few members of my fort before my military killed it. The civilian deaths have finally taught me why you should forbid the socks of dead dwarves.

The vampire came, relaxed, and left without incident. A Gorlak bard just showed up at the Buttery Brew and is being accepted by the other performers, hooray interspecies harmony. The Golden Vault has reached the tipping point with books. There are now 17 original works and everybody seems to want to write one now. One of the dancers who came to entertain people wrote a book about become a dancer.

If you're using DFHack (and I don't even know if it's compatible with the new version yet), you can use deathcause to query a body part and find out what caused their death.

I haven't actually loaded up my fortress today, but learning that command is part of what's happening in my fortress today. :)

I don't actually have DFHack but I've read up on the forums that is not an isolated incident.

Out of all the possible places, this FB decided to enter via hell. Brave little butterfly but alas its flight was a short one

The human caravan came, but some capybaras "attacked". There was a glorious battle in which the ferocious rodents were exterminated, but the caravan just run off the map.

A goblin bard wants to perform in the Buttery Brew. We've accepted vampires and gorlaks but this might be the true test of the spirit of drunken fraternity.

A web-flinging FB made very short of my militia, and so a fort falls as it desperately tried to blockade the monster out, but every worker who tried was killed.

A new fort elsewhere begins life as a tavern-to-be (serving as a temporary home for the founders.) It is called Sabrescribe, helmed by The Legendary Stake.

A chef in their ranks will hopefully make the sheep and chickens a handy and palatable source of food until the caverns can be found and more suitable meals found by the two soldiers of the group. Already the main tavern space is largely dug out of solid granite. Perhaps this fort will fare better than its predecessor?

I isolated a wereelephant resident in her own private library to see what research she might perform given the extra time she now has on her hands. The RNG named her library "The Blockaded Chamber".

I'm forcing myself to play without DF hack and Therapist.  I'm managing by stopping every migrant as they enter the map to rearrange their duties as I see fit, mostly working from memory.  I probably have way more farmers than I need.

Luckily, the embark includes tons of magnetite, and has a way around the aquifers that lie beneath the lake and brook nearby-  And I was able to begin work on the waterfalls at the entrance of my dining hall.

The tavern has been lively, though it needs refurbishing.  I can't imagine the human visitors (for some reason that's all that's showed up.) enjoy the sight of rough-hewn silt.  I might take a page from the random generated forts and build an above ground tavern outside.

I've designated areas for a library and a temple... And I haven't even touched instrument creation yet.  I'm debating whether or not it'd be easier to make paper out of leather or the few pigtails I've harvested for books.  I'm probably overtaxing my mason's workshop too.  Might be time to expand beyond the one.  XD

But I lasted to winter without a single death so far!  And no dehydration or hunger issues!  Huzzah!

Hmm..
I was just wondering what to do with 59 trapped clowns and then an uppity elf diplomat arrived making threats. Time to build a special trade depot for the elves.

A goblin invasion arrived right next to a wandering poet. They didn't pay any attention to him and just bee-lined their way to my fort. Tough crowd.

Got a tavern up, crops growing, and I'm getting temples to the six Dwarven deities going right now. Sadly, not much else, and the beds in the tavern are also doubling as residential beds for now until I figure out where I'm going to stack my dwarves. But everyone's happy aside from those itching for a fight or whom want to aquire things and be extravagant.
