Well, I'm down to just a few dwarves and the migrants that have come have been small in number. My seaside resort and future giant sperm whale farm is suffering in the war and on the fps front.

I only survived the last battle because of the large amount of cage traps set up. I am barely keeping steel production going and only have two squads, one archer one metal armor.

I did get an underground well set up though. So if it comes to that, I can hole up for awhile until things sort themselves out.

Crazy naked dwarf terrorising the children after he couldn't make a stupid totem.

Just celebrated the one-year anniversary of our embark, and by far the biggest concern is getting some dwarves hitched before they die of old age.  This is more important than usual since it's a no-migrant, generational/inbred fort.

How long until he dies?
You can order your squads to kill him.
Crazy dorfs are not considered your citizens so you can issue a kill order.

Hmmm nice.

Too bad my fort is devoid of weapons and a military.

dug until the molten rock layer, killed a forgotten beast with only 2-3 dorfs dead from the militia, the fort got to 2 FPS trying to find a way to get past the molten rock, but no adamantine spire to speak out. so, just scrapped the fort. too boring, guess i'll have to start taking challenges (this fort was in the wilderness and didnt have any aquifer)

I got a pair of artifact gauntlets, though they were not really a pair (made by different dorfs).
Do they always make gloves in pair, or am I just lucky?

tried to settle in a savage wasteland which was adjacent to a terryfing one, everything was ok and got my first caravan before ketting culled by undead giant ravens, which promptly disposed the caravan and infected their soldiers. tried to reclaim the fort 3 times but was unsuccesfull.

made another game and have just started in a savage prairie without any problem

In one of my forts, I got two left boot artifacts, one of leather, the other metal.

...I have since always thought that that that was a fort where no one could dance....

I've got the basic setup done, food, booze, furniture etc. Now I've got to decide between two building projects: 1) Since the name fortress is named Sabretowers, I originally figured I would build a physics-defying, trap-laden citadel on the surface, and have already laid out the foundations but then 2) I happened to check out the relations of the expedition leader and it turned out he worships only one god, associated with death, mist and fortresses. I mist filled grotto housing a temple with sacrifice room and crypts for all the dwarfs would be cool too.
