With lack of intruders and a general need for laborers, the 'Arm of Lakewatch' is now off of full-time training to assist with general labor and to ensure that my militiadwarves have kiddies to carry on their legacy. The weremoose killed all but one elf in the caravan, and wouldn't fucking piss off so I had Mafol run him down and cut his head open (it was only after the militia came after him that he decided to start moving again.) On the upside, little Zon who just turned one has a whole new outfit to wear, even if it's a little bloody.

I doubt the dead mandrills will be processed quickly enough to get useable meaty bits, but even the bones will be worth something.

So I retired my fort to go adventuring for a bit. After a mace to the head cut my adventure short, I returned to find a human, a medium-sized creature of great ambition! Beware! I look in the tab list to see he's listed as a guest, not an uninvited guest, but a legit guest. I instantly assume that he's a Werecreature and have my hammerer take him out, but now I'm wondering if your fort can have actual guests from friendly civilizations. Is this possible? Also, I saw a puppy get chased down by a wolf and then actually kill it, alone and unaided! She will make an excellent war dog.

Just trained up 100 / 122 dwarves in combat on an island to use as immigrants on the next embark, and a third of them are legendary
I have a 'dead' civ sortof, theres a goblin queen somewhere but i havent seen her.
My civ has all men in the millitary and now im including everybody, every dwarf must have some 'education' in the art of war.
I have some forts on Islands so to keep resources unlocked and the liason.
Now to abandon the fortress Stabbedcandy deu to imminent FPS death!
The Crypt of Candy shall march to the enemy!

Indeed. It was probably a scout/beast hunter/etc. roaming around. I got visited by a single human bowman who was listed as a visitor and hung out with my dwarves at their wagon once. Scared the crap out of me but since he was listed as green and a visitor I left him be and he eventually wandered off if I remember right.

EDIT: Lost a world to a desert titan who's deadly blood caused nausea, dizziness, necrosis by swelling, and sleeping sickness. I say world and not fort because they will die, and thier friends and relatives will arrive angry and continue their tantrums/insanity elsewhere and not in a fun way. And I mean fun in the traditional "I'm enjoying this and feeling entertained" manner, without all the dying minions.

I'm going to try a savescum and remove it's entry. Otherwise I need to reroll a world and never use overland water ever again.

EDIT II: I don't fucking believe it. They actually managed to lock it out.

Abandoned my previous fort due to FPS death (seriously 9 FPS isn't humane).
9 FPS? Dude, when I run my 34.11 fort on Windows with my PC, you get 2.

The best way to demonstrate it to him is take a save of 40 year old fortress with 150 dwarves in it on a good sized embark with a volcano that just breached the circus and install it on his gaming rig and watch it bring his rig to its knees.

Game crashed before I saved after a zombie/possibly city state(?,) attack (as there was a forest retreat listed separately from the elves,) and a pair of human caravan guards who managed to kill the titan. So, in true raging sleep deprived Splint fashion, I'm scraping this world entirely. And next world gen? More megabeasts, no titans.

I'm fucking sick of necrosis inducing swelling.

So apparently my FB intended silk farm had a minor design flaw, as the FB completely ignored the furniture I had wanted him to stop and destroy long enough to raise the bridges that would confine him in the proper position.

Not wanting to lose my forts Legendary military, who were also likely to far away, I sent my silver mace wielding Fortress Guard in, hoping they would get a lucky hit. Or at least give me enough time to raise the "oh shit" bridge I had luckily installed. This went as well as expected, but with the bridge raised the fort should be safe.

Three of the Fortress Guard are still alive though, probably off eating a biscuit or something instead of running to their deaths like good little Dwarves...

The expedition leader was just bitten by a whererhinoceros. Time to dust of the quarantine protocol.

I've been working on the exact same thing for my FB, so I have a question.
Have you thought of a way to automate it?

I have a working auto-catch on my surface, but it doesn't grab TRAPAVOID creatures. For example, 3 seasons ago a zombie kobold killed my bait and got back outside (though thankfully, a slow dwarf husk pathed in to see and he did get caught). I was wondering if you have thought of any way to fix this ?

My outpost liaison never showed up, and the caravan was ambushed by a zombie polar bear.

One of my liaisons got stuck in a river before meeting with my expedition leader.

It said they left unsatisfied before they drowned

My outpost liaison appeared, saw the zombie horde, then left unhappy the next frame. He didn't even leave time to get chased by anything. I mean, yea, post apocalyptic worlds aren't great, but you gotta accept things the way they are if you want us to open the sealing hatch for you.

The first smart one I've heard about yet.  Various stories I hear include:

"Thanks for the hospitality, I'm going to leave through hell now!"
""                                  ", Here I go trying to swim through the cavern lakes infested with pond grabbers!
"I wonder if those repeating spikes do anything when you walk over them . . ."
"Oh, a chained up wild black bear the dwarves were training!  I better kill it!"
"The mayor is in the hospital, I'd better sit here for a year waiting for him to wake up!"

This one:

"Its a beautiful day!  Oh, zombies, whelp.  Nope.  [SHOUTS] I'll tell the monarch you guys died fighting like heroes, K?

a Weregiraffe showed up and killed everyone outside, notably punting a baby an impressive distance. of course, my ranger without a right hand (affectionately called "Handy") decided to show up after the beast turned back into a human, the lazy.... Needless to say, the resulting tantrum spiral killed my fort.
