We put her into a minecart full of were-sponge dorfs,goblins,the local vampire and socks and send her downhill with her husband and cats on the tracks leading to a minecart shotgun that has her skid across traps,!!FIRE!!,water and !!MAGMA!! into a mineshaft to HFS and then seal the exit with water/magma so she can go insane down there

The dwarf in me approves because that is stupidly complicated and several dorfs will probably die building it and it requires a ludicrous amount of timing and parts that move.

The player in me disapproves because I've always had awesome nobles. Shockedtowns was basically fed by my bone carving baroness, Glacialhell's count only wanted catapult parts for some reason, my dorf in Spearbreakers only demands backpacks...

Preferably a room, unless it's early set up. Then I'd advise a few beds and places to eat along with whatever's being used to designate the training zone. Otherwise just pick a spot or dig out a room and use a chest or stand or something to designate the barracks.

What i mean is do the rooms need to have chest, bed, and cabinets for each dwarf like a normal bed room?  I usually do a 5x5 room for barracks and bed rooms.  Also having a separate room acting as a closet for equipping their armor/weapons

Just dig out/repurpose any old room and use a box or somthing. The beds are just if they don't have thier own rooms yet.

i am in my second year of my terrifying biome fort, the only things i have seen are demon rats and animal men on the other side of the map.

am I doing anything wrong?

the RNG may hate you if you embarked just to see how many minutes until !!FUN!! struck. Otherwise make use of this time to prepare, because if there's any lethal clouds or rains chances are very few migrants will make it in.
