Create a new megaproject dedicated to eradicating the entire population without water and magma!

Create a new megaproject dedicated to eradicating the entire population without water and magma!

Burrow them all under a large slab of rock and then tell them to destroy the single support keeping the slab aloft?

The excavation in Moonportal is going well. Exploratory digging has revealed large amounts of tetrahedrite and native gold, and miners believe they have located a hematite vein. The cavern was prematurely opened, and the access tunnel was quickly walled up again, but there is no doubt: A magma pipe is the source of the excessive heat down there.

Aw man, finally a good embark again.  :D

the fort had 18 dwarfs occupying it, when i decided to channel out a pit next to a frozen river. Single tiles with trees on them were left, so i ordered my 2 only miners to dig these remains. This led to the remains "caving in", and i found it funny that they were always knocked unconscious. But soon, this fun turned grim, after 10 cave-ins my dwarfs suddenly got injured, and bled to death.

With my 2 only miners lost and everyone too busy to pick up the equipment, i thought about abandoning this fort.

But then, a migrant wave of 48 dwarfs suddenly arrived, and after forcing 5 of them to become miners, i had found more then a fair replacement for what i have lost and the equipment was picked up before the river was unfrozen. Several ingame years later, this fort has now turned up to be the best one i have ever had, with 4000 units of booze in the stockpile and a deathmatch arena beeing build above the fortress, i'm more proud then ever in my DF career of what i have accomplished.

And i would have missed all that fun if i had abandonded the fort for the 2 miners i lost. And so could you!

Two of my dwarves keep tantruming because of lack of clothes while refusing to pick up any of the hundreds of available clothes waiting in the stockpiles.  Finally, one of them walks over to the clothing pile.  Only instead of picking up any clothes, he punches my legendary clothier in the head hard enough to shove his skull through his brain.  Then he took the clothes off the clothier's body and put those on.  He's now serving day 100 of a 220 day jail sentence, and his happiness has gone from "Miserable" to "Quite Content".

Also, I made a magma-flood corridor for my entrance and decided to test it out.  Good thing I decided to test it, it's got a leak somewhere.  Turns out a double pump stack floods the surface *much* faster than I expected.  No dwarven casualties, but the next caravan to come through might have an interesting time reaching the depot.

DAMN KOBOLDS! I SWEAR THA I'LL KILL EVERY SINGLE OF YOU!
They stole my artifact clothing set (Robe, turbant and veil. ALL of them with descriptions of the first artifact created in the fortress, The Deteriorated hold the steel shortsword.) They will pay, I'll create an adventurer just to kill those bastards and take my clothing back.

Your clothes are long gone. Probably shouldn't leave artifacts out in the open :p

Hmff. Infernal ash washed over the corpses of the goblins killed in the last ambush, so they have an infernal ash coating. I'm not risking that.

The three dwarves affected by the noxious secretions are all better. That was a pretty pathetic illness. Short lived nausea.

One of my most honorable military dwarves just bit the dust due to old age. 'Stitches' Bibancatten was one of the first militia captains of Athelilid, and certainly the most durable. He suffered countless beatings, and before he died he was missing a hand and nearly his entire upper body was covered in scars. He had adamantine sutures sewn into his body, probably used to fasten his armor onto himself more firmly.

Rest in peace, Stitches. Your valor shall be an example to all

"This is an exceptional kaolinite memorial to 'Stitches' Bibancatten Nanirstettad Tomus.
The slab reads "In memory of 'Stitches' Bibancatten Nanirstettad Toums / Born 97 / Died peacefully in the year 258 / Militia Captain of the Shield of Dwellers, 252 to 258 / Slayer of the Goblin Nako Namesteals / Loving husband."

He died in the barracks, probably training to his very last breath.

This is a birchen armor stand. All craftsdwarfship is of the highest quality. It is decorated with birch and encircled with bands of birch. It menaces with spikes of birch.

... Birch please :P
